UK Car Show....Pics - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This is one of the smaller annual car shows that we have here, It's called "Dam Yankees Summer Slam" Dam Yankees is the name of a large classic American car club here in the UK, I never usually miss this one as it's held only about 10 miles away from my home. There was a real good showing of Trucks this year but I was the only 67-72 there. My wife and boy are in in some of the shots and sitting in my Truck. Hope you like em.

Nice pictures. Pretty cool to see American cars in UK. Are there any US cars that have right hand drive in the UK? I mean oder cars.

Thanks, it was a great day but then walking round hundreds of classic yank tanks couldn't be anything but good. There are a few right hooker American cars about but that tends to dilute the overall experience.

Here's the rest...

The show is held on an old airfield used by the RAF and USAF during WW2 and is still in use today for vintage aircraft. So it was prety cool when this guy took off in a Dakota with it's origianal war time markings.

Holy Cow! I'm glad I looked at this thread! Beautiful cars and except for the odd phone numbers and license plates, one would never know it was across the pond.

That looks like a DC-3 in those pics. One of my all time favorite planes.

I'm with you on the DC-3 also a big favorite of mine and the Spitfire of course, and if I had been rich and could buy classic planes I would have been a Dakota guy, just like i'm a Chevy guy.
