Re: another crewcab swb build

well the frame is cut and welded the short bed rear on.I had a rain day today from work so i got alot acomplished ,driveshaft shortend and installed, new 16 gal gas tank from classic parts thankfully they are local.I also found what i think was a good score a 89-91 dual headlight grill ,support, harness, and all lights for $130.
Here it is in my truck not fastened yet.sorry for cell phone pic.

Where are you getting these doors from? Rust free doors are almost impossible to find around here! I actually paid $150 for one to go on my Blazer just so I could get it back together and lined up.

Re: another crewcab swb build

I found them at the local pick n pull in kcmo. The two back doors came off the same 91 sub it was real clean thats the same one i got the grill and rad support from the fronts were missing already. The two fronts are rust free but have a dent each that needs work. The ones on the truck are toast they are creased on both sides.

guys i will have pleanty of pics come saturday night. My wife said she would take them because once i get started on a task i dont stop for a breath or pic that is.

I used the same method as Ojoe or Toomanytoys did.It worked perfectly I thought about just shortening the frame for a cleaner splice, but i had enough on just the cab rivets and i would of had to move two of the spring perches and drill more bed bolt holes.

Re: another crewcab swb build

It is 6 lug all the way around as of today.I used a 79 4x4 rearend and 88 up spindles calipers 6 lug rotors on the front, so to say 1/2 or 3/4 not really sure. The front rotors are light duty 3/4 ton i left the original springs in because of the 454.The rear is a 1/2 ton 4x4.The reason i went 6 lug is i alreadt had a new set of tires and wheels from my 63 when i bought it.I got a couple doors hung today to.Pics tommorow I promise.
