whats your experience with lift blocks?
i was looking at the lift for my K20 today.. the rear is a set of 6" blocks. has anyone here ever ran a 6" block? i have a 3" on the truck now, but the 6" block just looks HUGE... the u-bolt worries me even more than the block does though.
so what are your opinions on a 6" block?

I prefer all spring lifts, myself. Move the brackets/shackles around with a shackle flip and/or run longer springs. If you spit out a lift block (especially a 6" one) it's really not fun (done it a few times). The axle's ability to bind up the spring and wrap is increased every inch of block you run... If I HAD to run one, it would be a stock Dodge or Furd one, that had the anti-kick notches in them, that you pass the bolts through. |

I used 4" for many years and never had a problem. You will probaby need ladder bars for axle wrap. Never use blocks in the front.

Yup, your springs will be in an S shape every time you floor it = wheel hop!
Street driving and cruzing to the mall you should be fine 6" is a bit much for a block... .02c

if you want 6" lift use your 3" blocks and a shackle flip. Prolly cheaper and looks better.

Re: whats your experience with lift blocks?
Lift blocks are fine if you just cruise around and don't do a lot of off roading. I just sold my 95 ext. cab GMC. Over 200,000 miles and no problem. If you'll be accelerating hard, have loads of torque, or do serious offroading, I'd steer clear of them. And as most know, for sure not on the front axle. Hard braking could fold your front axle under the truck. I guess that would be like reverse axle wrap!
