Screw Red Y'all changed my Mind...Again!!

Okay guys, Once again y'all have changed my mind!! I have come to a final decision on painting the '68 Stepside. it just hit me about 5 minutes ago! Even though it isn't factory 50th, I think i am going to paint it the way I would envision a Factory 50th Anniversary Stepside looking. The truck is on 15" truck ralleys with tall tires, lowered 4/6, Cowl hood, It will have firebird sidemarkers with a sidemarker gas tank fill, White cab roof, white grill, gold body, with stainless trim around front and back windows, Stainless trim on Drip Rails, and trim around the back of the cab! I wasn't going to put the hood trim and grill suround trim on, but now I think I might need to. I think that should just about nail it. Maybe the tailgate should have white Chevrolet letters too. I think I finally have a good solution!! Picking a red was driving me nuts!! Of course that means I will have to completely reconfigure my interior now!! Doh! Need new dash pad now, new gold carpet (I haven't even installed my New black carpet yet), new seat with upholstery, new white door panel covers (needed those anyway), new arm rests (white or gold), new white seatbelts (right?), what else am I forgetting? What do you guys think?

Re: Screw Red Y'all changed my Mind...Again!!

got to have

1. chrome sport bumpers, front and back.
2. chrome grille trim
3. CST badge under the driver/passenger window
4. upgraded chrome stalk mirrors
5. yep, white CHEVROLET on tailgate

Shawn, I can't wait to see this concept!!!!!! I'm drooling just thinking about it!!

Re: Screw Red Y'all changed my Mind...Again!!

Okay, I've got the chrome sport bumpers, I can do the hood and grill surround trim, I've got the Grill Hoops and Bezels, I might skip the CST badges and the CHEVROLET letters on the hood since the truck will have other small mods (firebird sidemarkers, cowl hood), and I might stay with PEEP mirrors, but you never know, I may put the sport mirrors on.

Re: Screw Red Y'all changed my Mind...Again!!

yep your right, skip the CST markers.

by the way, your saving mucho dinero by not going with red. the pigments in red causes the price to be ridiculous.

still, can't wait to see this concept in motion.

you may have to patent this scheme, because you have me thinking now!

I learned to wait to say what color I`m going with until I`m leaving to go buy it.

On my new '68 I chose my color at the paint store at the very last minute. Several factors came into play and I haven't looked back! I think you'll be happy with that combo.

I can vouch for that, almost $500 a gallon for the red on my Burb and, it took 2 gallons.......
