Paint Color

Anyone have the "official" color of this? As far as I know, this is the original color. Seafoam seems to be too light. Ideas?

Re: Paint Color

I have seen some B A utiful trucks of all sorts in this color.I think it`s one of those good ole truck colors and it`s an evolution of the classic Seafoam. It looks great with white 2-tone and white accents,as well as great with chrome. It`s a traditional look on stock solid paint trucks and gives a factory body look to a modified truck.

Re: Paint Color

I agree with everybody above. Medium metallic green. A buddy had a 67 that I swear was the same color only without the metal flake. The photo of my truck below ain't the best but it is all I have on this computer at this time. You can see what shiny new meduim metallic green looks like on the door and fender next to faded old medium metallic green on the box.

Re: Paint Color

I dunno, seems a shade lighter than medium green, yet 2 shades darker than seafoam. I can't venture to say it had any metallic in it...but after almost 40 years I guess maybe it faded a little

Re: Paint Color

Here we go with everyone seeing a different color on different monitor on an aged color that has other colors very close. We need to know the year, that`s original paint.I don`t see it as metallic at all. It`s a`69 or`70 and the codes are different. The color I see would be #518 Medium Green if it`s a`70 and #503 Light Green if it`s a`69.If it was a`70 and a poly (metallic) it would be #529 Medium Blue-Green Poly.In`69 there was no green poly .There was a GMC-only color,#511 Turquoise Poly.
Seafoam was a`50s color, although simular to later greens.

Re: Paint Color

Hmmm...I figured it was a 69/70 because it`s original paint,a Custom/10(mid-level),and has bright wingvents which would be mid-level-up.In`71 a Custom/10 would be the base level with black wingvents. The Custom Deluxe took over as the mid-level and had the bright window trim.I figured the windshield could have been replaced and the plain gasket was used for ease of install,as many have been.
The codes on the same color vary from solid paint to two tones.I`m trying to stay on the year of this truck and the same color to keep it less confusing. There are two Medium Greens for`71:518 and 507.It`s tough to tell the shades compared to your old paint.A good paint supplier should be abole to pull up enough info to get you what you need. It`s the kind of thing where it`s best to be laying you eye on the real thing.
Try to get other members with medium green`71s to give what their code is.You can look at their paint and judge if that`s what you`re looking for.
