Help pullin My TH350???? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

OK guys I am lookin for some ideas here. I have pulled a couple of tranny's before, enough to know that if it is a slip yoke tail shaft you are going to dump most if not all of your fluid out in the process. What I am asking everyone is there a smarter way to do it? Anyone come up with an ingenious way to keep the fluid where it is? Any help is much appreciated!! The only thing I can think of is talking to a local transmission shop to see if they have a slip yoke floating around that isn't attached to a driveline that I could maybe secure it in place with tape? The other option that I have come up with is to detach the tranny before pulling the motor and then dropping the trans down to the ground with the driveline still in, but would rather pull the two together.Thank you in advance for looking.

They make plastic plugs for this.....get on a snap on truck....they can get you a kit of them....or swing by a trans shop as new trans come with them in them to prevent leakage during shipping..

Yeah, I bought an orange plastic cap that shoves into place, works great!

orange plug like said above or you can also use an old yoke if you have one floating around

harbor freight has them for 3.99

also get one for the dip stick tube...they can make just as big of a mess..
