Saw this on S10 Forum and though I would share

http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f207/n...l-arms-370267/

Jason from SD claims it will fit 63-87 Chevy trucks. Price for package is 1500 till Oct 31st and after that goes to 2000. I say thats hell of a deal. Anyone thinking about picking one up? i am thinking about it but after my recent news from the insurance company, I may have to be one of those guys that spends 2000 to get it.

Looks nice, but I'd rather go with the Porterbuilt Dropmember. His is road tested/proven, and he will custom tailor it to the customer's wants/needs. SBC/BBC/LSX, ride height alterations (upper bag mount moved to meet needs). If you call for support you talk to the man behind the product. I used to go for the lowest price I could find but I've learned my lesson on that. Not knocking SD, I just know PB stands behind his products. He has a $999 Dropmember kit out now to -> Link and there's talk of a 67-72chevytrucks board special.

Suicide doors is known for building there stuff super strong. usually way over kill in the strength department.. They have a great reputation of selling quality products and standing behind them.. I'm actually pretty shocked you guys don't know this.. The guy who does the welding there puts down insane beads. Incredible welds.. They are a big part of the mini truck world and I'm sure will be just as big a part of the fullsize scene in due time.. I for one am glad they are now starting to come out with products for our fullsize trucks and know that there products will be top notch and afforable..

Yes and when you call Suicide Doors, you normally talk to 1 of the 4 people at the shop that actually make the product. No overseas people.

Suicide DOES have quality products...however...Nate kicks but with his fabrication.

Nate has his products out there already....but I'm sure SUICIDE will be in force on the Full Size soon...

And when you call Porterbuilt about his Dropmember (already on the market & proven BTW), you'll also talk to the guy doing the welding...... and the cutting..... and the fitting..... and the jigging...... and the packaging...... and the shipping . . . .....

No overseas people in Mesa AZ either.

I am going to keep my mouth shut on this one, I hope Runninlow can too. We have spoke our opinions of SD on more than one occation, and we are both firm belivers in the porterbuilt products. I personaly cant bash SD, because I have never used any of their products, But I have friends that have. I will leave it at that in hopes I didnt start a fight.

You can say that SD learned from Porterbuilts mistakes right? SD has less pieces the PB's. After hearing of SD's cross member, PB drops his price down to meet theirs??

Are you saying that SD's stuff is cheap? If you are i would just like to know out of curiousity why you consider it cheap. Is that due to it being priced less??

No, he still has the more expensive one, its been covered over in the suspension section, but I believe he took out a few features to make a less expensive one for the budget minded people

I think he's meaning the fact its a less expensive version of porterbuilts. I don't think we need to go into this, we beat it to death in the suspension section.

I have a small list of PEOPLE not businesses I call when I want taken care of and want to depend on them.
in no particular order:
Bob Grant custom made more than one piec of sheetmetal for me.
Steve Neilsen when he was running ALTER both guys helped me big time and talked for HOURS when I was building my gen1 4Runner.

Clint @ KP has always played super straight with me NO BS at all.
Steve and Phil @ FBI took really good care of me when I ran my shop

here's a surprise: Ed my rep from CHASSIS TECH, that's right I said Chassis tech ( aka AIM ind.) ALWAYS hooked me up. of course I didn't buy their cheaper parts but what I did get from them never gave me any grief.

Finally Nate@ PB. THE best customer service/support/ and aftercare I have ever recieved in the car game and many other places.

I'm a reasonable guy but I will NEVER let another cent of my money end up in Jason or his companies hands again.

Sorry KD couldn't hold my tongue anymore. Been trying though.

The fanboys can call me a hater/whatever but I do come by it honestly and if it can happen to me it can happen to anyone here. Why do you think they're resulting to hype and carnival barker tactics. Why are several of the SD supporters new "plants" that have only joined this forum in the last month to sing the PR line?

Joe321 I too am tired of it... I will continue to vote with my wallet as many have but I also think Nate has earned a little support from those he has helped. The SD crowd will spread their info and the PB crowd will hopefully always be there to support someone who deserves it. How many Mac vs. PC ads will we have to endure. it's going to go on as long people care.

OK I'm done again
Josh

Re: Saw this on S10 Forum and though I would share

I bought an aim industries air ride setup that was supposed to fit a caprice, and had to do extreme modification (basically just had to redesign what they sent me to make it work).
about 2 weeks after I recieved thier product , I was wishing like hell that I had waited and saved for an airride technologies setup.

I went with aim, because it was cheap, and I thought it would be a bolt in and go, afrter waiting 6weeks for a "needed" part that was not included in the kit???? I had lost my shop space, and the car is still sitting on rails..
Runninlo has my back now, and now I think I can get that car back on track, ight after the 61 is done/driving...

through all that, I learned that the cheaper, best deal is not always the best way to go...

If you buy a Porterbuilt, or SD piece , do some research first , and let the product be the deciding factor.

Re: Saw this on S10 Forum and though I would share

I've only been around for a month or so because I bought my truck well around a month ago. I've bought tons of parts for various Jeeps because that was my last few projects. It’s even worse in that world. One company designs a control arm and next thing you know you have 10 other companies that build the same thing, but in a different color or in a different thickness. It’s all still the same.

I learned to look for the originators not the imitators because it’s easy to copy and modify than to sit down and completely come up with something new and fresh. I don't blame the guys for imitating because let’s face it everything we do now a days is a copy or a new spin on an old idea. However I refuse to ever bash or judge somebody for their honest and creative original thoughts and reserve the right to copy cats.

Re: Saw this on S10 Forum and though I would share

All i am gonna say is I have ordered from SD, got my stuff without 4 link tabs, called them up and they overnighted it to me on there tab. they build quality stuff. I have yet to have a weld they did crack or have a problem with fitment. They use jigs just like porterbuilt. Porterbuilt has a nice member. I might buy the c4 one cause it works on tube chassis. I am not on this site much and saw this on a site i visit frequently and though I would share it not knowing it was on the suspension section. I thought it was kind of cool to see Nate had some competition. Did i know that when i posted this, this was the responce I was gonna get? no. I'm not a plant, i am just showing something I thought was cool and didn't know if anyone else knew about it.
