Stock bench seat in my 63 upholstered in black vinyl w/ black & grey tweed-pattern. I have a black & grey Mexican blanket hanging in the center cuz I like it. Looking for sum early 60s bucket seats out of a Impala, Malibu, Chevelle, or Corvair. I wanna switch it out, but still keep that old school 60s theme.

Re: 60-66 Seats...post pics!!!

Selection of the “right” steering wheel should be one of the highest selection priorities, since you’ll be looking at it every time you’re in the seat, and it’s the human interface to operating the vehicle. The wrong wheel can ruin the experience.

My personal favorite steering wheel size is 14.5”, whether it’s a vintage Covico wheel like mine, or a later design padded leather wheel. I also have power steering, so the need for a large factory wheel isn’t important. The design should compliment the rest of the interior and overall theme of the truck. I had a LeCarra wheel in my truck for a while. It fit well and was very comfortable but looked out of place.

I’ve always loved Covico wheels, so when I finally found a decent example that was it.

If I still had manual steering I would buy one of the new reproduction 1959-60 Impala wheels, in my opinion the most beautiful factory wheel ever designed. Unfortunately for an old guy like me with a gut, it also uses up a lot of valuable space.

http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-st...1959-1960.html

The smaller 15” retro version is very poor quality and should be avoided:

If billet best fits your design concept, here are a few places that offer billet steering wheels:

http://www.elitebillet.com/category....5?categoryId=4
Amazon.com: CFR Performance - Billet Aluminum... Amazon.com: CFR Performance - Billet Aluminum...http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/steeringwheels.html

Virtually any of them will fit a stock GM column by using the correct adapter. There are several adapter styles depending on what type wheel is being mounted. If Summit or Jegs doesn’t have the right one, eBay almost always does:

And here are few threads with pics from some earlier threads which you may have already seen:

And to stay on topic, here’s a shot of my original bench seat after I added a Seatz upholstery kit!

You're right about steering wheel choice. It's something I've been thinking about for a long time and I'm closing in on it. After looking at pictures of what I had in mind already and taking a few from what you posted, I think I've narrowed it down to a few choices. The Billet Specialties outlaw, BS Classic or the old tried and true classic Chevy wheel. My truck is sort of a road track inspired build. Air Ride system, 13" disks all the way around and an LS2 with a 5 speed. I want a wheel to compliment the theme. I'm leaning toward the 15" Outlaw in black or gray at the moment.

Wow, I have the exact same seat in my garage that I kept from my old 66 GMC. Its got a few imperfections, but its in pretty good shape. (Not for sale) I'll grab a pic when I blow the dust off it.

Re: 60-66 Seats...post pics!!!

This seems like the right place to put this. Is anyone running a bench thats not as wide as factory? I found one recently that measures 49 3/4 wide with a shifter cutout in the middle. The factory bench as I measured is 58 inches. Do you think this would be bothersome enough to scrap the idea?
