Re: Tire / Lift size chart 67-72 (WILL IT FIT?)

Okay so we know what fits but when it doesn't how much cutting and where!

For example I'd like to run 38X12.5's on my 1st gen with just 6" of suspension lift. I plan on wheeling it as hard as I need to. Seems like I might get away with just a little bit of cutting but where and how much is the real question?

The "chart" in the first reply in the thread would be good to see for all size tires by lift.

Like:

38's w/4" = cut 1" off the front and XX off the rear
38's w/6" = cut 2" off the front andd xx off the rear

I guess we'd need to know if we need to cut 2" off the front and 2" off the rear or the FRONT

How high up do you need to trim the 2" up to as well.
What about the inner fender...

geez this is complicated!

FYI: the guy 2 posts before this has a GREAT example of what to chop off!

Re: Tire / Lift size chart 67-72 (WILL IT FIT?)

this may be the wrong thread to post this in but its semi-related so i will ask anyway
my 68 k10 has 31x10.5x15's on it and i was hoping to put 38's on the truck by the time next summer rolls around, i am pretty shure my truck has some form of lift in it, all i know for certain is that its not blocked and it doesnt have a body lift, i was told that the rear leaf pack isnt a halfton pack and looks to be 3/4 ton or larger and my front leaf packs are from a 79 blazer, i found that writen on the springs, would those leaf packs add a lift? and how long are the original 68 shackles? cause the ones i have look homemade?
any help would be greatly apreciated
thanks
nate

one of the front shackles is visible behind the homemade rockwell 221 fill tube

this picture shows my rear leaf packs, ive never seen another 68k10 in person so these may be stock but a couple people i know said they are not factory for the truck, aslo can anyone tell me if this axle is anything special? its a 12 bolt 4.10 posi
