here's a young rookie mistake for you guys to laugh at

Well I've been working on upgrading my dash and gauges the past week. I have bought the white face gauges that stick over the factory, and I've bought the red LEDs to replace factory bulbs and I bought a new black bezel with chrome around it. Well I had everything pulled out of the truck and decided I would drive it to town without the dash or gauges or anything in it. BIG mistake. I hit the first block by my house and I feel something wet dripping down on my foot and shoe. I look down, and oil is pumping out into my floor like someone cut a main artery. Holy crap, I was too dumb to realize the oil pressure line would be pumping oil out on me!!! lol...needless to say i reversed it and high tailed it back to the house. man i felt stupid

haha ya i felt very stupid. i was thinking, duh stupid how else is the gauge going to be able to measure the pressure, haha.....no big deal tho, luckily I haven't installed my new carpet yet so no big deal. I guess that is how you learn, through your own mistakes. and I can probably guarantee it wont be my last mistake

Don't feel bad I drove about 50 miles from Gulfport, MS on my way to New Orleans before i realized that my foot was so hot in my 71 swb 4x4. I bet I cleaned up about 3 quarts of oil off my foot and floorboard at the local Shell station with the washer squeegee and then I dunked it back into the washer bucket and then I thought I grabbed the clean one to wash my windows...Boy I was so Wrong! Anyways It happens to lots of us.

I've done it on accident once, luckily I caught it right before the oil found it's way through the line.

haha wow thats pretty awesome too! man, even after I realized that the oil was pumping out, I thought I had my gauge line screwed in good enough and I didn't, and the oil just puddled up on the lip of my dash.

Good rustproofing for your floorboards.
