Re: Got it Finished.
The interior is about done. I still need to carpet up the back wall and get new seat covers, but am finished otherwise.

Re: Got it Finished.
That really turned out nice. I love the clean "sorta" stock look with the late model wheels.

Re: Got it Finished.
Thanks guys I appreciate it a lot.
Pretty much, unless I'm driving it or cleaning it, it stays in the garage. I'm thinking about wheel spacers. I'm having to wait and save for them now. First I want to get a set of replacement seat covers from captkaos when I get the money. They looked ok until I fixed up the rest of the interior; now they look crappy That was from the guy that put the first scratch on the truck.... Last edited by 78 Chevyrado; 11-08-2008 at 01:56 AM. |

Re: Got it Finished.
Looks really nice. What tint did you use on the rear window glass? Looks good not to dark or light.

Re: Got it Finished.
I was just looking, and I can't find out what seats and console you used, and what you did for the brackets. Can you tell me how you did that? Is that a suburban seat? Do the suburban brackets work on our trucks?
I love that color and the seat (the one I see anyway) looks pretty good.

Re: Got it Finished.
Looks absolutely fantastic - love seeing other 3/4 tons w/ newer wheels. Hey if you ever get the chance change out the steel wheels with the alloy type, they are so much lighter. I also love the chrome tool box, makes me wish I had left mine on

Re: Got it Finished.
Thanks guys!
All the window tint is 35%. The seats and console are out of a '91 suburban. You can use the suburban seat tracks. The suburban tracks bend down where the rear bolt hole is. You will have to bend them upwards to use in a pickup. Also the seat bottom will sit dang near flat and I raised just the front up about 1-1/2". My dads making me some brackets and I'll have pics when I put them on. Also you'll have to get the front inner seat mounts out of the suburban; they weld to the floor, but you can cut them off and bolt them down like I did, or reweld them in. UPDATE: Here's the raised seat brackets mentioned above. They raise the seat around 1.75 inches higher than stock in the front only, and are made out of stainless. I may get some aluminums if I ever have that much money again. One of my grandad's friends gave me those wheels and caps for free, otherwise I'd have been stuck with the skinny OE wheels till now. All I had to do was buy the tires, so good deal! One reason I like longbeds is that I can have my toolbox on there, and still have full shortbed capacity. I used to use it for tools when I used it for work, but now it's my trunk. I hate stuff rolling around in the cab. Hey eyegore, didn't you used to have bigger tires on your truck? what size did you have? I'm thinking about some 285/75/16's next time around. I love that truck! Your truck looks great.
What airfilter are you using? Can I just put that in my truck, no other changes? Thanks. |

I'm not sire if it will fit if you still have a quadrabog. The PN for the tall filter element is Purolator PN#PA30067. The edelbrock PN for the original kit I bought with a 2 inch tall element should be PN#1208. I think, since I bought it 5 or 6 years ago when the truck wasn't mine yet. Grandad bought the new carb and the stock setup wouldn't work on the edelbrock carb and it was CHEAP, which said SOLD to him...HAHA Last edited by 78 Chevyrado; 11-12-2008 at 11:38 PM. |
