Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

I ordered some inline tube trans cooler lines and tried to install them. They don't look quite right to me.
I called them and mentioned about the shipping bend. Cameron said "we don't put shipping bends on transmission lines". They sent them to me like that.

So I straightened the bend out per their instructions and it seems close.
the lower line was shipped just like it is, and it seem short!

I have the upper line hooked to the top of the hole on the transmission, and the lower line to the lower hole. Is this correct?
anyone else have problems with inline tube?

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

I did. I ordered a complete braided stainless steel brake hose kit. The back one fit just fine, but the front ones did not come with the correct fittings or a banjo bolt. I called them and they just told me, Well just send it back then. They did not even ask what was wrong or anything. I personally will not order from them again. I just bought some stock rubber ones instead. sucks.

I bought a prebent line to run from the fuel pump to the carb. It's fit was dead on.

I expected the same thing....

BTW - when I seen that you replied I thought you were going to tell me to get a better camera! (I used my cellphone to take these in a hurry.)

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

I bought stainless fuel lines from them for a swb 71 with a 6cyl. First they sent v8 lines then they asked for pics of my 6cyl line. They said mine wasn't like their forms. They sent me what they had. It is completely different but should end up with the end where it should be for the pump. I checked a 68 parts truck I have and the line is identical to the one on my 71. I emailed them to tell them their form was wrong and never heard back. As they seem to be THE supplier to resto shops, I'm sure I'll end up with more of their product later, but I hope I have better luck. If I just wanted it to be close, I'd have made them myself.

I think you can get better than "close" bending them yourself. just buy a nice bender and flare tool.
I ordered a couple different diameter SS lines from Inline, and I'm getting really good results doing it myself. Besides, you will have the option of putting things where you want them...

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

I called today and talked to Mark. They want me to send some pictures with them in the truck and lying on the ground. So far they are helping and have been pretty cool.
I’ll keep everyone posted.

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

Those bends do not look nice or correct - they should be much crisper and cleaner
If you do not get any good response call the right stuff
http://www.rightstuffdetailing.com/
They can hook you up with a set of lines

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

Where can a guy get the clip that attaches to the oil pan? I don't have that and the lines really need it.

Is it available aftermarket?

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

The top line is the return and the bottom line is the pressure IIRC. The hot fluid should enter the rad at the top and exit the cooler part of the rad at the bottom. I think your lines are reversed at the trans. Is your engine mounted in the V8 location or the inline 6 position ?

It's mounted in its original position. I'm pretty sure it's correct.
The lines were only finger tight. and I checked into switching them but don't think it will help....
So which one should go into the lower fitting on the transmission?

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

What I`ve bought from Inline has been perfect. They were very strick on getting proper information and you need to be sure you are at factory specs because that`s what they go by.I needed something custom and they were reluctant.I got them to do it with my specs and it was mine right or wrong. It was perfect.I needed a specified length on hoses with specific fittings and some standard stuff that all fit together. It all went right together.
I know lines can be frustrating.I hope you get it worked out.I think they are a good company that will work with you.Let us know the results.

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

*UPDATE*
I sent them pictures of my problem and it seems they are having internet/email problems.
Mark on the 5th informed me about this, and said he would be getting back with me.
When I called on the 6th Mark said he was discussing the problem with someone (engineering?)

I called Friday morning and talked to Cameron again. He said emil the pictures to him and hell take care of me, and I did just that.
I called later that afternoon and he said they were having problems with the internet/email. He said he would bet back to me later, I told him I would be leaving work soon and offered him my phone number. He quickly said that it probably would be Monday before gets back to me. But he said he would take care of me.
So another weekend without parts.......

Re: Inline tube trans lines/ bent wrong?

I got a call from Inline tube today and they said those are definitely the correct lines. The wanted me to send my old lines in for them to look at. I suggested a picture since they could tell theirs were the correct length by a picture.
I asked for an over all length so I could double check to their measurements but that me a blank stare that I could see over the phone.

I finally decided to called Wes at Classic Heartbeat, to tell him what was going on. (I ordered them through him)
I sent him the same pictures and he said they don't look correct either, and he would take care of it.
Basically they told him they are correct, and if they send new ones they will be the same. So Wes said he would have Therightstuff send there lines to me and we can compare.

I sure like dealing with Wes, and this is just another good reason!

PS if anyone can take a measurement of the trans lines, I would love to check it against mine.

Thank you for your confidence in me Dean. I just can't leave anyone hanging. If they don't fit, they don't fit!! It's that simple!! And if the rightstuff lines fits that will leave you a satisfied customer. (hopefully) I should add that you should take pictures of the two brands together so I can see the differences. I have to say I was very dissapointed with the responce that I got from in-line tube today. I hope this gets you taken care of and I will deal with inline tube once you are satisfied. WES
