It looks good man, have fun on those cab corners and let us know how it goes. I'm going to have to put mine on soon, so I'll be watching your build.

Green trucks never use to appeal to me, but the more I see the more I like. Especially the way the white one your is laid out. Looks pretty sweet!

What are your plans for it?

And, if this is to be your build log, let me know if you want it moved to the "Projects" section.

Re: Restoration on the 72 has begun.. 11/25/08

i dont know if i wanna keep it same color.... i do and dont.. but dad is going to buy the paint for me so whatever paint he buys ill be happy with as long as i can get redone... its staying two tone so i will redo the cab white and the white on the side.... plan is to do what *Dylan did.. and wire wheel the frame and mineral spirt it and bed line the frame..then im going to clean up my coils and rear end and everything then hit it with chassis black paint..drain rear end and put new fluid in.. change tranny fluid and filter.. put cab corners in this weekend... then once thats done put new inner rockers in...after that we got to put three new cab suppports in..after that i hjave to patch the bottom of both doors since its rotted when you open the door and look at the bottom of it... then finally block it out and get body prepped and painted....the frame will look like junk under the cab but ill worry about that when it gets warmer out... and hopefully i can get dad talked into new wheels and tires.... im thinkin it all will be done around march or april if not sooner... im tryin to get it done for that car show that my profile pic is of.... then its going to be entered in a car show/drag race... they have an old airport here that they legalize a drag

i still have to do inside of the frame..my rear end... and my springs and control arms... but i used rust convertor primer..it goes on clear then turns to a black primer you shoot over surface rust after you sand it with 50 grit paper... then i came back the next day and shot it with rubberized black under coating...

Looking good Tim. Nice that you can work on it at brian's. Buddy's make it a little bit easier. Should come over to ken's house over on maple across from your parent's house sometime. Working on my cab over there. Alot worse than yours. Daren

Nice starting point. I have to agree with the rest of the crowd to keep the orig colors and two-tone. Nice.

Keep us posted with progress pics.

Before going through the trouble of painting it... you may wanna smack those rockers with a pick hammer.
If I am right, it'll go right through.
If I am wrong, you'll get to cuss me out as you repair a small dent... but you'll know they are solid.
