A friend has a pair of disc spindles and wants $100 for them. He mentioned these originally had 5 lug rotors on them which were thrown away because they were no good. My truckis 6 lug pattern which I would like to keep because I already have wheels I like.

Can 6 lug rotors be bought and put on these spindles. Also, I already have power brakes. What else is needed if these will in turn work.

i am not certain, i believe if your going 6 lug disk rotor it should work. you could also Call ECE 1.888.777.0395 as they sell the 6-lug disk conversion and would know if the spindles are compatible.

I think on most of the disc conversions(after market) they use a 71 up spindle and then vary the lug patterns.You should be able to the get rotors you want by contacting one of these co. You will also have to change the ball joints and tie rods.

GMCPauls has the best price for 6 lug rotor kits. And you will have to change the ball joints/tie rods ends.

I bought two six lug rotors from Master Power brakes. As long as the wheel bearings are the same ( between 5 lug & six lug ) the should interchange.

It depends on what year the spindles are. If they are from a 71-72 then the disk brake conversion spindles will work. Like sneakysnake says you will have to change the upper and lower ball joints, and left outer tie rod end also. WES

I am about to do the same thing. Which ball joints and tie rods should I buy? The ones for the '71 the spindles came from? or my '67? this probably a dumb question but i don't want to go to the parts house twice.

Get the parts to match the '71 spindles.

I know he's your buddy and all, but 100 is too much for a set of non dropped spindles. 25 to 50 is more reasonable.
