would these be good if I decide to go with getting a new set of 16x8 centerlines?

they're classified as light truck, but my truck isn't light

I'm used to buying tires for cars, not trucks... so any help is appreciated

A 1/2 ton truck will do fine with a car type radial.....if you arent planning to do a lot of heavy hauling with it. at 3800-4000 lbs empty, they weigh about on line with a late 60s- mid 70s Chevelle or Cutlass. A lite truck tire will have a higher load rating, & ride stiffer than a pass tire.......I would for sure use the LT on a 3/4 ton, or a 1/2 that you plan to load heavy. good luck....crazyL

hrm, these are light truck truck tires the ones i'm looking at but I don't know exactly what their ratings are as far as load ratings...

SL, C, D and E

for speed ratings,
SL and C are SR
D and E are R

but I don't think that matters much (although I do tend to drive a bit fast

)

the tires I'm looking at are Off-Road/All Terrain tires, but they say light truck so I guess I won't have much of a problem...

I'll probably spend the extra $20 per tire and get the higher load rating...

now my question is this... is a 265/75/16 going to fit on truck with stock suspension that originally has it at 235/75/15 in the front and 30x9.50 in the back?

I know the back will clear fine, but the suspension in the front is pretty soft and loose... and I do drive in bumpy areas a lot...

any info for that?

I have a question why do u want to put 16 inch tires you can get the same height out of 15's, 16's are normally a little more pricey

15 or 16, doesn't matter to me really... 16s are if I go with new wheels because quite honestly when i get done with it I want larger tires anyway
