My $300 '72 is shaping up nicely
Bought this truck on 10/11/08 for $300:
replaced the gross bucket seats in it, replaced the power steering pump, steering shaft, and did an oil change and coolant flush, pulled off the molding 2 weeks later, and changed out the blown speakers with Pioneer 6x9's, got minor things like a new gas cap as well then forum member chrislehr helped me lower the truck using the CPP spring kit, 3/5 drop: Then about a month ago, I dropped it off at a local paint shop and got a fairly cheap paintjob, and they filled in the molding holes and most of the bigger dents here and there and painted the whole truck Ford Grabber Blue with a white roof: I need black door panels now

If you don't mind me asking, how much does a paint job like that run. Mine needs some new paint.

Re: My $300 '72 is shaping up nicely
They fixed a bunch of rust here and there and its not the best quality, but I'm a college student so it was a sizeable amount for me
$950 all said and done, would have been cheaper if the body was cleaner

That sucks. There is a piece of rubber line under the cab you might want to replace as well.

Re: My $300 '72 is shaping up nicely
Econo Auto Body and Paint on Ben White
they didn't like doing it for so cheap, and left out a bunch of dents and stuff, but if you just need a basic paint job, they can do it for as little as $200
