66 Long Fleet Pics

Hi All,

I stumbled across this forum a few months ago when someone was getting rid of some glass. I created an account then, but I have never posted anything. I came back to this forum this past weekend, and spent hours looking at some of your builds. I think I recognize some of you from another forum.

My truck is a stock 66 C10 with a 283/Powerglide. I got the truck about 2 years ago. My wife’s grandfather bought it new in 1966 and used it for about 10 years for his small business (repairing pinball machines, vending machines, and pool tables). The truck sat in his yard for about 15-20 years, but it has been in Arizona its entire life. When I towed it home, all it needed was a fuel pump to get it started. I ended up replacing the motor with a rebuilt longblock, and replaced all the brake components, and now she is a pretty good hauler.

I get the feeling that you guys really like pictures, so here are a few of mine. Here is how it looked when I got it home:

I guess there is a limit to the number of photos. Here are a few more with the motor running and new tires

I was going to kid you about the diamond plate bed until I saw the lift. Man that thing has to be heavy.

Whats your plans for it?

Looks nice and the rust doesn't appear to have creeped everywhere. Man really good condition unless there is some hidden stuff.

Re: 66 Long Fleet Pics

Kizer - My plans for now are to just keep it pretty much stock and use it as a truck. Eventually I would like to restore it with a few modern updates (engine, trans, brakes). Since it has been in the family since 1966 and I am the second owner, my wife might give me a hard time if I cut it up too much. I still have the original title and license plate that were both issued in 1966.

My brother lives in Marysville, that is a beautiful place.
