Re: Tommys66 Build
I have seats just like that for mine but I can't use them. Not enough legroom to be comfortable on a long drive. I really bummed.

Re: Tommys66 Build
I purchased some fittings from Doc's Blocks, for the A/C compressor. These allow room to hook up the hoses without notching the frame.

Re: Tommys66 Build
Amazing Job so Far. I am starting my first frame up of a 65 1/2 lwb and I have been waking up every morning between 3-4 am thinking/ stressing about it. Now I feel Like I have somewhat of a roadmap and I feel excited again!
I will be doing a much simpler Chevy 350/ TH 400/ stock rear end set up because I am NOT ready for a wiring loom like that! Im so impressed! Very excited to see what happens. Cheers! |

Re: Tommys66 Build
Do you think you will have any problem with only running that external cooler?

Don't know for sure. I seen where others have used these and I asked them, they said it works fine.

Re: Tommys66 Build
I tried to use the stock plug wires with the headers. The drivers side has plenty of clearance, but only one wire on the pass side clears. Do they make these wires with a 90 on the plug end?

Re: Tommys66 Build
Wow! Those headers do fit nicely Tommy. Looks reeaaaalllyy nice. Can't wait to get back to "laying hands" on mine. Keep it up!!
As for your question on plug wires, I found this... The first link is to Hart Rods Suburban build. In post #412 he stated "Check out the Doug Thorley headers!!!!! Youll need to use a set of plug wires: MSD Connector wires 8.5mm 32819 " There may be a pic of the plug wires on the motor in a later post...didn't get that far. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...artrob&page=17 Here is a link to a pic of the actual wires... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-32819/

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-32819/[/QUOTE] I purchased these wires and they are too short! apparently there are two different length wires on the vortec, depending which coil they have. I happen to have the longer wires on my motor. But I am kinda confused, because I checked the length of the truck wires at the local parts store with a stock set from a camaro, and they were the same length

Re: Tommys66 Build
You could always buy some custom wires and make your own to fit. That's how my mallory set is.

Re: Tommys66 Build
Looks good Tommy. I ended up putting my sending unit right at the Dizzy on my 350, but I'm probably going to move it down to the oil filter.

I like the mass of wires above the spark plug wires.

That's the way I'd do it. I think you have the red one hooked up wrong though.
