rear tire clearance

I'm sure its been posted before but what is the widest rear tire you can run on a 1968 short wide with trailing arms? Stock hight and keeping it in the fender.

With stock fleetside wheel tubs? For typical pass car/truck sizing, a 275-60-15 on a 15x8 to 10" wheel w/between 4-5" of backspacing.

Larger diameter wheels? 295-40-20's on 20x10's w/about 5-5.50" BS fit pretty easy & maybe a 315-35-20 on an 11" can be squeezed in if everything is equal & set-up properly.

Even larger diameter? 285-30-22's on 22x9 - 10's w/5-5.50"BS.

Smaller diameter but wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide . . ..... 31x18.5x15's w/Mickey T Sportsmans on 15x14's custom back-spaced wheels will fit if the wheel tubs are widened.

Pick your poison .

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
