Dual wheel size?

I just recently acquired my grandfathers old wood hauling/beekeeping truck that he heavily beefed up in the past. Anyways I was wondering what size Dual wheels will fit on these trucks it is a 1978 K20 with a 14 bolt rear my grandfather said he always ran 16" wheels even with the duals but not sur eif he remebers correctly cause he is 82 years old. So just wondering if 16" duals would fit on the 14bolt rear cause the the drums are so large.

16's will fit. I think it may have come with 16.5 rims (a heavy duty tire size) or 16s.

Re: Dual wheel size?

Could be either one. 16s would be a 235/85s or an 8.5/16.5 or so....

Re: Dual wheel size?

Yeah I planned on going with 16" duals cause the tires are cheaper and more selection. The truck has always ran 7.50/16 even with duals which is pretty close to a 235/85 I think just a little shorter. Well I guess I need to look for some 16's then. Also will a np205 interchange with a np203 full time case or is the spline count different on the output of the tranny. It has a Th400 and the transfercase is out of it they junked it a long time ago and I need to find a replacement I would just rather have a np205.
