86 cab questions...........

Trying to find out the differences between the 2wheel and 4 wheel drive cabs.
Can a 2 wheel cab be used on a 2 wheel chassis.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: 86 cab questions...........

The only real difference is the floor hump on the 4x4 cab. It is a good bit taller and has the 4x4 shifter holes and such compared to a 2wd cab. Other then that, I don't think there are any differences. I put a 2wd cab on my 77, and I had to cut the hump out and use the bolt in 4x4 one so I can have clearance for my trans.

Re: 86 cab questions...........

you can use a 2wd on a 4wd chassis as long as you cut out the hump you can bolt up a 4wd cab to a 2wd chassis but youll have to cover the holes for the shifter

Re: 86 cab questions...........

Yup like they said. The only difference is the hump. I put a 86 4wd body on a 77 2wd frame. Which im still workin on rite now.
