hey all I am looking at a Blazer I am just learning about thes as I go. I redid my 68 P/U now looking into this. Anyway the bedside infront of the tires is rusty. I see parts for a Pickup I can cut out and replace is this what everybody does? Or are there specific "Blazer" bed side pieces?

Pick-up truck bed patch panels will work fine.

Don't have any good pics of mine, could take them if needed, but I got mine from Tri-pro. Blazer/Jimmy specific part, didn't trim anything, just welded in place. Gauge of metal and stamping was rite on, good fit outta the box

Was this just the front pieces? I have been looking around and didnt know how much of the bedside could be bought, I have seen reference to a taller one and a shorter one but these are listed for pickups.
Yes pictures would be great. Also where did you get them? PM me if necessary.

Yes, just the lower front pcs., in front of the rear wheels. These go up to about 1 1/2" above the body line crease. I'll try to get pics and I'm looking for the link

Depending on your budget and skills you can graft in a complete
swb p/u bedside, or watch evil bay for blazer/jimmy bedsides

Just a little input; if you are talking about the piece in front of the wheel on the bottom, a lwb quarter will not be the same. The blazer part comes to more of a point and a lwb sweeps forward, IFyou were looking to use a lwb patch

Thanks I will keep looking at the panels it seems like the patch panels were generic to fit both except teh full panels.

Hum my budget is small and so are my skills... No I can fit metal pretty well I am just slow but I am always watching the budget. I will check evilbay and see what I can find. looks like you have a couple

It is just a project I am still trying to decide I have not bought anything yet.

Just checked with Goodmark, and they say the part is no longer available...still checking with other suppliers. Sorry seems like I typed before checking, can't understand why it would be discontinued

I have a set of pickup lower rear quarters(new repop) you can have for the price of shipping, if you want them

Thank you, young man(when your 60 every one is young), but I served my country honorably many, many years ago. I'm done with my deployments, and yes this is a great country we live in... What I meant, by going away is, I have to visit my Mother and Mother-in-law for the Holidays

Well, I love my MIL like my own mom, but I had an X and she may well have been likened to a deployment for any visits to her house!! NO DISRESPECT MEANT TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN OR ARE CURRENTLY DEPLOYED. I just thought the MIL angle was too good to leave lay on the table!!

Back to the OT, the NOS blazer bedsides I see are $2k-2500 for a pair, and honestly if you have a desire to have a really nice Blazer that is pocket change compared to the $10-20K a "NICE" Blazer fetches. I have a 2wd Blazer and if I get to keep it ($$$ is tight for me too, and I just sold my 72 4X4 so I may not "HAVE" to sell the 2wd, anyways, I may do the NOS just because a bolt on set of perfect quarters is worth every cent in saved labor and pure frustration of fitting little bits and pieces here and there and getting everything (not everything is made BTW!!) I'd just as soon have the new ones, but a SWB bedside can be cut down, providing the B pillar is good and it won't be if the quarters are rusty enough to warrant repair!? On yet another side note, I have owned 5 Blazers, all from AZ or NM and all have had rust (the 4X4 I just sold was as near perfect a Blazer as I've seen as far as rust is concerned [outer and inner rockers and touch on the floor/kickpanel, but the quarters are perfect]) so they will run and drive just fine with the aftermarket rear brake ducting holes!!
