They should be the standard 8 lug pattern. Granted I have no idea what offset they would run. Good for a C-20 perhaps.

I have seen somewhere on here pics of a C-20 with the H2 wheels.

The H-1 wheels are the same bolt pattern as a chevy 8 lug.

Re: Has anybody seen a picture of a 67-72 with hummer h1 wheels on it?

I had a set on the back of my old C/20 longhorn for about 30 min. You couldn't pay me to put them on again. Very heavy, and totally slowed it down on the take off (CAN'T be good for MPG) and rode like they were solid rubber tires. I don't think I could put a tire that big on the front without rubbing.

you need and on board compressor to run thoes wheels. and with the run flats they need to be mounted and dismounted by hand so any tire work is $$$$

h1s have 7 in back spaceing unless your running real wide axles they might not work

The CTIS (Central Tire inflation System) was not on all H-1 trucks. I know when i was in, hardly any of them had it.

Re: Has anybody seen a picture of a 67-72 with hummer h1 wheels on it?

they are the same bolt pattern you can run them in the front with no modifications IF you are running a dually dana 60 front, otherwise you will have to have the centers cut and rewelded for proper backspacing. I believe The magnesium runflats need to be cut off as well, with is dangerous because the magnesuim is flammable. The 36x12.5x16.5 tires are junk, ride like crap and arent any good offroad, I have researched this quite a bit and you should go after the goodyear 37x12.5x16.5 tires those are radials and a better tread block design

Re: Has anybody seen a picture of a 67-72 with hummer h1 wheels on it?

Would be a good deal for an off road truck but with all the mods needs to run em on the street, the 'good deal' may not be so good anymore.

I'm running some H2's (same back spacing as the H1's I believe) on a single wheel Dana 60 front and it's close but they work.

Re: Has anybody seen a picture of a 67-72 with hummer h1 wheels on it?

to run H1 wheels, you need spacers or dually axles. there's no arguing that. Dually axles might actually be a nice upgrade, if you can find a matching set from a 1-ton... well, then you have a 1-ton K-30, and picking the right set will also allow you gearing choice. Sets of dually axles with an 8 lug pattern typically go for $300 up to $3000. I'd be able to find a decent set of disk braked 1-tons for $400ish in my neck of the woods.

you don't need on board air.

you DON'T want to drive them on the street. the 36" mil goodyears are practically as hard as a hockey puck.

If you are getting them, you are probably getting them for the wheels. You will probably get rid of the magneseum run flats and get PVC runflats so you can mount a different tire. At least lots of tire manu's make tires in 16.5

If you DO get them... and swap out the mag runflats, and get a nice offroad capable tire, you will be able to air down to 5-10psi when offroad, and still have a DOT runflat for driving home

There`s no such thing as an H1.There are Humvees which were called Hummers by the troops. Then,GM started the Hummer name and built completely different animals and named the 1st one H2 and the second downsized one H3.

Actually, the H1 was the civilian version of the HMMWV. For starters, military and civilian Humvees are basically the same underneath. Same diffs, same axleshafts, same transmissions, same transfer cases, and same basic suspension components. The only functional variants include three engine choices and 12-volt electrical systems for civilian models (one engine choice and 24-volt electrical systems for the military) and slightly different spring rates, shocks, and tires. In fact, a representative at AM General told us that all Hummer chassis come off the same factory line and are then finished differently depending on their final destination. So when your buddies try to convince you that civilian models aren't as strong, tell them you know better.

The biggest difference is obvious: The interiors are worlds apart. While the spartan military-issue interior is dominated by a giant radio and features cool canvas seats, the civilian model can include comfortable leather seats, carbon-fiber dash inserts, and enough creature comforts, doo-dads, and gadgets to help justify the hefty $65,000-plus pricetag. Civilian models have completely different dashes filled with gauges that we suspect have been borrowed from semitrucks and have lots of trim for a finished look. All you get on military ones is uncovered aluminum and a simple uncluttered dash.

Basically, the H1 is more civilian friendly. And a heck of a lot more costly to buy.

cstm68 ... you in the service, or do you chainge tires for a living...? I was a mechanic in the army from 93 - 01, and we had the first generation H-1 (the older ones with the 6.2/Th400). Hardly any of them had the CTIS system.

no im not in the service, i just work for les schwab and we do a lot of business with a local hummer dealership. most of the ones they have us work on are around 2000 -2005 h1 style models (all with duramax disiel), and everyone iv seen with run flats has the ctis system, i guess they just bring us the heavly optioned ones, haha.

Well, there goes all my credibility .I haven`t sured the net on the subject or done any research on them. There`s a guy in town that`s a military vehicle expert, especially Humvees.People bring their`s to him from all over and he provides vehicles for movies.Actually,we have a slew on military vehicle nuts in my town, prolly because of Ollie. But,those guys always correct people when they call`em H1s,"It`s a Humvee".I guess they don`t like being associated with the sudo Hummers.

x2, the amazing copy and paste man's source is right, at least.

i helped a local guy change tires on his wheeler, he was running the humvee runflats. He used a sawzall and cut the runflat portion off of the magnesium insert and left the bottom part so they would still be beadlocks. it was stupid simple to change the tires, although we had one that drove us nuts with a leak (turns out he had a bad o-ring between the rim halves that was leaking air).

you can run them on a srw front end with simple wheel spacers, or get them recentered. you can also get rebar rock rings to protect the outer lip and there are aftermarket pvc and steel beadlock inserts available.

there are 2 basic types, also. one with 12 bolts holding the halves together and one with 8. I have heard a rumor that the 8 bolt version was for bias tires, and the 12 for radial.

i bought my set a couple of years ago for a good price but they dont have the mag inserts, so i am going to have to use one of the aftermarket beadlocks. i have a Dodge DRW dana 60 laying in wait. havent exactly figured out the rear axle situation, though.

I forgot all about the radial verses bias wheel. I never saw it documented, but that was on our inspection form.
