Got another truck. '69 292/powerglide swb,...

Well I got a chance to hand wash my new truck today. (It was 61 degrees here in Missouri)
I looked at this truck on New Years Eve,... and brought home on the Friday after.
It appears to be mostly original paint. Original rusty rocker, nice cab corners, front fender cups, and pretty decent bedsides. The right bedside has been painted at one time,... but the wheel arches are original.
It has a weird engine combination: 292/powerglide in a short fleetside 1/2 ton. No A/C, no P/S, plane Custom/10 truck. Originally red with red interior.

Plans are to drop it with my old static drop stuff and ralley wheels removed from my blazer. (5.5"/6" drop) I will convert it to 5-lug wheels and disc brakes at the same time. I want to keep the 6-banger and the faded paint. It came with a bent up sport bumper also. So immediate plans will be to swap the grill and front bumper for a better "driver quality" parts that I have,... and buy a new rear sport bumper.
Here's a few pics:

Nice find. How many miles? Looks like the engine has never been rebuilt.

Odometer shows 84k miles. Hard to tell if it actual or not.
The previous owner said it had a campershell on it most of its life. The tail gate would be perfect if I could fix that dent on top.

Wow! That bad boy looks pretty just like my '69 when I bought when I brought it home! I see now why you were asking about 292 stuff the other day!

Wow nice Ride!

Yeah I am thinking of ditching my 6 banger since its not the 292. Just too expensive to hot rod these vs. the SBC.

I'm going to keep the 292 for while. But the powerglide has a front seal leak,... so it's either getting a TH350 or some type of overdrive transmission. Maybe 2004r.
Anyone ever put a 700r4 behind a 6 cylinder? What do you do with the TV cable?

I see a show truck in the making, I don't think you are the type to ever be done with a project...Blown BIG Block would look nice. HeHe I see it with a body drop, Z'ed frame, and a dancing bed. Sorry, I had to do it.LOL

That`s about a hop in and go truck.Simple is good.I like how it was optioned.Just bring home lower it and swap some better parts. All stuff laying around. It doesn`t get any more simple.I`ve bought trucks just to use cool stuf I had laying around. It`s like getting a brand new truck and slapping some accessories on it.Done deal!
