I've used several, and like LUV2XCLR8 says, they can be nightmares. It seems eBay has given birth to this industry of dually pickups pulling 3 car trailers.

One thing I learned that you may want to consider....

About 2 years ago I bought a 66 Dodge Charger that I was gonna restore in Indiana and had it shipped here to VA. In route, the car slid sideways on the trailer when the driver took an interstate off-ramp too fast. He had it tied down on just two corners. The rear chain broke and when the car shifted and the remaining front chain popped the ball joint and pulled the lower A-frame loose and damaged the front fender.

I was lucky that their insurance company paid for the damages. I say I was lucky, because I found out later that the carrier didn't even have to turn it in if they didn't want to. My only recourse would have been to sue them. BUT, here's the kicker; Their office was in another state (NY), so if I wanted to bring action against them, I would have to go to that state to do it.

So, I've found a transport company one town over from me (I actually know the owner) who I will only use now.

My advise: Only use a carrier that's based in your state.

It will be slightly cheaper since it runs, vehicles that do
not run are usually charged a slightly higher fee for the
extra handling involved since they can't pull it on & off.

I have had plenty of stuff shipped - including complete cars/trucks/parts and never had one issue. Just make sure that they have insurance and that they have enough feedback to make you comfortable.

People will bid on your transport and to list up an item is FREE and you have no obligation to use any of them if you don't want to.

I have no affiliation with them - just my personal experiences.

**Most online shippers work on reputation - hence the feedback on uship. If you want to try another route and see others who have reviewed other services you can look at http://www.transportreviews.com/ and get some other choices**

I used AAA auto transport. Reno nv to Colorado. 900 bucks. $150 for the wraping.

Honestly, for the potential cost, I'd fly over and drive back?? Cali to TX isn't too bad, heck if I had the time I'd drive it over for ya!!

I used AAA and was happy, when they picked up the car, I found out that the people were sub-contractors working for AAA auto transport....you may want to check on that also? Ishipped a convertible Chevelle from K.C. To Sacramento Calif. around 1100.00

Blazerdog, I am actually headed to Cali in Feb, I can get it back here to AZ (upper northeast corner of the state, off of I-40) it would help get it closer to you, maybe you could meet me somewhere, I can even go into NM, pay me for my fuel and a little extra for the time, and I am sure it would be way less than a shipping company would charge?? LMK if I can help you out?
