new guy needs direction.
New man on campus and I finally have the time to work on the four projects that have been sitting in the yard for the last ten years.
First project is a 69 4wd blazer with no frills. This rig needs many parts and I want to build up the suspension with a mild lift, bags and four wheel disc brakes............ Does anyone know of a manufacturer of parts or kits to do this for a 4wd? Does any one have an opinion on the quality of LMC parts? They seem to carry many of the parts I will need. Welcome to the board, there's a mass of old chevy truck owners in your area, several in Spokane alone.
One question though...why bags?  There's a ton of info to be found surfing around this board, hit the search function, type in whatever questions you have and you'll find pages and pages of info-rich reading. |

WELCOME!! I'll admit the LMC has most everything you will need.I will however suggest you look thru the vendors on the board here.They will have tech support while LMC has order takers.The BB vendors will also probably be kinder to your wallet and they also support the board.On top of that they build trucks and will have sorted thru the parts and found the best quality though pricing generally reflects that.

Welcome to the board from the other side of the state. There are several board members in the Spokane area and areas near by. One member works at http://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/ and they make some great custom offroad parts for our generation trucks.
For parts, the LMC catalog is nice, but check with Wes at Classicheartbeat.com before you buy from them. There are quite a few other board vendors/members that would be more than happy to help you with the parts you need as well.

Thanks all...some great links for a guy to start looking at.
To answer a couple of questions. I want to build the 69 for show and as a daily driver...ambitious I know. I want to put a four link in the front (parallel) and rear (triangulated) and from the people I know...bags are the best ride....when done right. Not to mention I want to do something new and I have not seen a lift solid axle Blazer with bags. As far as my other projects, I have a 74 blazer, a 72 Chevy LWB 2wd c10 and a last a 72 GMC LWB k20 all are basket cases but I love a challenge.

What's up from Spokanee! Building a 71 Jimmy currently (has been slow). Lots of nice people in the area & on the board. Bought quite a few patch panels from GMCPauls (site supporter) but haven't got them on the Jimmy yet. Fella in Deer Park who just posted some pics of his project. Looks like we need to get some members together for a face-to-face soon. Maybe johnnywagon can organize a 7mile get together! Too bad my Jimmy won't be done for a while!

Right on! Hopefully this summer when mine is painted there will be more Spokane blazers on the road! I plan on driving mine at least one or two days a week this summer.

The engine is out right now, depending on how much body work I take on....I might get to drive some this summer.....once done the way I want. I hope to drive every day.
