Re: need Alternator mounting help
You can do the bracket that is sold at checkers/autozone but i believe its for a long water pump. or this style which is on my 327. heres a link to ebay (good price ) or you can go to a hot rod shop and get it new for about $100. this style bolts to driver side head Good luck. and just copy the hole thing and paste it.

Re: need Alternator mounting help
You will have to have the mounting holes in the heads to move the alternator to the passenger side plus a long water pump.
It would probably be easiest to pull the manifold off and take it to a machine shop and have them remove the broken bolt. I say that because most likely if you felt you could get it out wiith an easyout you would have already tried it. |

Depending on where the bolt broke off is going to make it easy or hard. If it's out past the head wall then removing the manifold and get ahold of it with some vise grips. If it's flush with the head then a easy out.

Re: need Alternator mounting help
Easy outs are everything but what their name implies. By the time you have the bolt smooth enough to center your drill on it and actually get a hole drilled, you have thoroughly gotten passed the really PO'd point. If you can remove the manifold, get a nut and place it up against the head and weld the nut to the bolt. The arc should not stick to the head, but to the bolt only. Now turn out the broken bolt and put everything back on.

Re: need Alternator mounting help
. When I bought my truck it had a similar problem. This is what the previous owner did to get by.
If I was you I would try and get the bolt out. This is a 350 out of a 70 chevy.
