Re: anyone using a 283

had a 283 in my 69 4x4 it would spin until the fan belts came off. true story only noticed it when the temp hit 200, and the motor never ran hot. make sure you have vented valve covers and put a freeze plug in the vent hole behind the distributer. fyi find some accesorys from a pre 68 or69 to get brackets that don't require the holes in the heads
