New gas filler idea

I just saw the Precision Coachworks billet gas filler and caps that Air Ride Technologies is selling for the GenI Camaros and Novas. Anyone thought about this as an alternative gas filler option? Wouldn't hide it, but would probably look better than stock. Just a thought. If anyone's tried it, please post pics.

Here's a link.

Re: New gas filler idea

It looks sharp enough. You could probably buy similar styled covers at the local autoshop.

For our trucks, I wonder at the locking stuff...you could just slip the hose off the filler behind/under the fender and steal all the gas you want.

Re: New gas filler idea

I have the inner side panels, so it would at least be some work removing those to steal any gas What I like about this is that its not just a cover, but the neck also. If the angle was correct, you could mount this in place of the existing filler and hook up a hose and be done, with minor body modifications. Just a thought.

Looks nice IMO, I like the recessed billet cap.

Re: New gas filler idea

Been thinking about this... it looks like the angle of the tube/face would be just about right for the blazer. The trouble would be that the blazer filler is right at the curve in the panel. It would be great if it worked. My blazer is already painted and something like this would be a great retrofit if no significant body work needed to be done.

Re: New gas filler idea

My sentiments exactly. I thought the angle looked pretty good, but I have thought about the "curve" issue, too. I keep hoping someone will chime in and say "I've done it and it works great!" Here is a new picture that I got yesterday. It is the camaro neck partially installed.

Re: New gas filler idea

What would you do with the vent line?

Re: New gas filler idea

There's a vent line connector on this neck.

Re: New gas filler idea

So, is that the exact filler in the picture?

Re: New gas filler idea

Yes, that picture is from the folks at ART. I was on their forum asking questions about measurements and pictures and that was a picture they sent me of an install in a camaro (which the filler was designed for).

Re: New gas filler idea

Do you remember what the dimensions are? Especially the outside measurement of the ring.

Re: New gas filler idea

I don't have any dimensions. All of the info I have is listed above. The pics are not mine. They came from ART on one of their installs.
