any c-10's with sunroof?
is there any pics or 67-72 trucks with sunroofs? i've had this idea every since i bought my truck last year... well i finally bit the bullet and going to take it to the shop next week and getting it done... they are going to be installing a pop-up sunroof on my 68, i havent seen any c-10's with a sunroof so i figured it will be something different to see....
how about some pics? this how my truck looks now... of course it aint no head turner compared to what trucks are on here but it will do... [IMG][/IMG]

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
Thats a nice looking pickup! Why cut roof, if you later decide to sell, how many would want sunroof? Leaks? Take away its originality/ This is just how I feel, to each his own!

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
Most people dont care for the sunroof and wont want a truck with one on these years if you do make sure they do a really good job or itll leak either way thats a really nice truck

Nice looking ride. If you like sun roofs go for it. You are building this truck for yourself aren't you?

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
chances are that the truck wont be going no where so im not worried about the resale value or interest.... ive always wanted one so i will try my best to keep it for a while especially since my son says its his truck! lol... as far as rain, it probably wont see rain its in the garage all the time other than if i get caught by the rain or something?
the guy that is doing the sunroof is a guy that does sunroofs for the dealerships in the area so that makes feel a little more comfortable about doing it aswell... and well i am building the truck for myself but my son is having some decisions on it aswell and he is only 6yrs old! lol.. by the way any pics of some trucks online with sunroof?

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
I recently bought a 69 longbed to use for parts on my 70 swb and it has a sunroof on it. I gotta say I would never think of hacking the roof of my truck but whoever did the job on the 69 made it look pretty good. I kinda dig it...so you never know.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
When I bought my 70 C-10 short box back in 1990, it already had a flip-up sunroof in it. I liked having it as on warm summer days with the sunroof up and the slider rear window open, I could fly down the highway with the side windows up and get some nice airflow and still be able to hold a conversation with anyone riding along. I will admit, if the truck didn't have it when I bought it, I don't think I'd have put one in, but to each their own. I'm looking for a decent picture of the sunroof in the truck. Most of my pics don't really show it.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
I`ve been real disappointed finding decent cabs then seeing the roof is cut for a sunroof. There`s a reason you never see sunroofs in these trucks.I breally like your truck so far.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
I also wouldn't do it, but it is your truck. As much as I like 'em left stock, I'd never tell anyone that's what they have to do to theirs. Imagine what a boring hobby it would be if everyone left their truck bone stock.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
Something to consider is with most aftermarket sun roofs is there is no shade to close. The Houston sun will be beaming on your head all Summer like it or not.
As everyone has expressed, it's your truck so do what you prefer. I'm not opposed to cutting one up, but I would never do what your about to do.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
I've heard someone say mods like that increase the value of trucks without that mod... so go for it. Just kidding. It's YOUR truck and you should do anything you want to it. Good luck, make sure you post pics of the install if you decide to do it.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
Please tell me your cab leaks over the windshield and your saying ohh well. Not a pristine cab please. Cut your radio dash instead if you need to cut or put 6 X 9 holes in the doors.

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
Ok,I'm a t-top fan always like how they looked in those trans am and in the cutlass's and I am wondering how the would look on one of these trucks, maybe the guys in photo shop could do one? I also the idea of a sun roof if it could be done without the frame sticking up,make it level with the roof.In short I have come to like and respect what you guys have done to these trucks,be it mods or stock,so what ever you do just let us see the finished product

Re: any c-10's with sunroof?
You have a great looking truck.
I do like sunroofs... but only in new vehicles. I like them to be completely flush with the roof. I have yet to see a single flush sunroof for these trucks. In my opinion, the ones I have seen look pretty cheesy, and look almost like an "afterthought". Just being honest. I think your truck is a head turner as is and unless you really have your heart set on adding one, I'd pass on it.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but does anyone remember that convertible Dodge truck that came out awhile back?
