Is this a fair TRADE - w/PICS
i have a 86 chevy swb, that has been lowered 6 frt / 8 rear. has motor and tranny. motor is good, runs, tranny is missing reverse. has no front grill, needs a fender, and door, needs window motors, some interior parts, and has a little rust.
a guy wants to trade me for a 68 chevy swb project. no motor or trans, needs inner fenders, bed might need some work. he said the guy he bought it from, started tubbing it. interior looks good. i am adding a few pics of each truck. let me know what you guys think. should i say yes or should i pass.

Re: Is this a fair TRADE - w/PICS
If it were me, and I have a nice 78 swb, I would probably say yes. That is of course making sure the overall condition of the 68 is where you think it should be.
The square body's here in the Northwest are actually so cheap, that they are not selling hardly at all. On the other hand, 67-72 short wides are getting to be a rare animal around here, at least for sale anyway. Just my $.02 .. Drew

Re: Is this a fair TRADE - w/PICS
well honestly to me looks like the the 67 is much closer to paint, but also looks to be a old drag truck not a good or bad thing of course. but it might be missing every component under the hood.
and it seems like theres alot of $40-$60 dollar parts missing all over. the 86 has of course a motor and a tranny. but the body seems to be a bit shy of straight. and the interior could use some work.. but you know the truck a whole lot better than me. depends on your goal for the vehicle. or wich bodystyle you favor. if it were me i would trade..... and you could easliy pick up a motor and transmission for it for 1/2 the price of the other trucks body parts. keep in mind these 67s are tricky with the floors under the carpet the panels behin the gas tank and of course the drip rails if you are in any sort of rust belt.. Put simply, to each your own. they are both rebuild beasts. use your best judgement.

Re: Is this a fair TRADE - w/PICS
thanks for the input so far guys.
the thing is the 68 is my wifes favorite year of truck. she might have some say in it. the guy said there is only the bed is the issue. by the pics the body doesn't seem to be in to bad of shape. haven't seen it in person yet. keep the replies coming.

Re: Is this a fair TRADE - w/PICS
I would go for it. The 73-87's dont do much for me and it looks like yours needs some work anyways. The 68 needs some pieces too it looks like but there has already been a lot done. Somebody has some time into that louvered hood! I would do it if it were my decision.
