My '69 Chevelle/Winston cup car

had this car in the mid 80s.....LOVED IT!.....had cut springs (no such thing as drop spindles in those days) I had the bodyshop cut out and move the fenderlips higher like a stock car....had 275/50/15 T/As on all corners....built 350 4 gear.....slid off the road in a freak Sept snowstorm and basically totalled the car.....always said I wanted to do it again

Re: My '69 Chevelle/Winston cup car

I have a 300hp 350 that I'll put in the car to get it up and running.....once that is done we'll look fot the big hp "Bullet" prob somewhere between 5 and 600 hp.

Im getting at it in the garage......its really not that dark..must be the camera settings

imagine the last pic of the Nova as a 69 Chevelle and thats the look and stance Im going after.......

Dude, that is Bad@ss! It would be cool to build some flares over those, but the "open" look is wicked too.

I hate what they did to that poor car. It looked killer! Of course, movies use several cars and the "Hero" car stays "pristine."

I love your car, it reminds me of the 70 Monte Carlo in the opeing scene in Fast & Furious-Toyko Drift.

Subscribed. Awesome project. And we should all be lucky enough to have a friend with a personal racetrack!

Re: My '69 Chevelle/Winston cup car

hey thanks for all the replies.....should have known a bunch of truck guys would "get it" !.....in the last pics the body is just sitting on the chassis.....next order of business is to take the body to the media blasters and have the roof and some specific areas blasted, I'll go for a "driver paint job" as opposed to a "show winning paint job" I intend to drive the heck out of this car

I also need to freshen up the underside of the car (wire wheel/ prime/paint) then take the rolling chassis (only) to Peter Gibbons's race shop about 45 min from here and have him put what amounts to a road race set up in the car as opposed to the oval set up it has now so it can turn left AND right lol

I'll keep you guys posted thanks Doug
