Die-cast truck guys, need info
I picked up a couple of trucks today and wanted to know if anyone knows anything about the blue 69? It is more like a tonka truck the way it is built. The guy i bought it from told me what he knew, but i want to see if anyone can tell me anything before i tell his story. Thanks for any info. Eric

Re: Die-cast truck guys, need info
The hiwaay 61 is a nice die cast. The other one looks like it may be a promotional truck or a remake of one.I don't know much about them but I do know if it's an original promo item it may be worth some good coin.

Sorry I don't know anything about the blue one, but it looks like a great addition.

Re: Die-cast truck guys, need info
There are 4 trucks.I got all 4 10 or more years ago.I can`t remember the company at the moment. They are about a 1 /16 scale like Tonkas and most vintage pressed steel. There are unmarked and other promos out there. You`d think with what it takes to make the dies there would be more produced.
It`s a pretty decent job on it,don`tcha think?

Re: Die-cast truck guys, need info
special-K do you know if they made a fleetside '69?
My '69 was built at the St Louis plant and would love to find one of these. I can't believe that I missed that earlier... too much stuff, could you get some more shots of the blue one for me? Especially the back panel with the write up on it.

Re: Die-cast truck guys, need info
There`s no Fleetside and this one is a longbed Stepside, the onlt way they`re made.I found mine the year they came out at a swap meet. So,I`ve only seen secondary prices. The guy wanted $90 each and I bought all four for $300,IIRC.I had to have them.I`m doubting they`ve gained any value since they aren`t known of by most.Their day may come.

Re: Die-cast truck guys, need info
There was a guy at the Charlotte auto fair selling the ones without stickers for $17.00 each. He didn't have the red ones though.

I guess they`ve gone down.Paul(fleetside) send me their info and I never followed through.I believe I still have the pm saved.I`m curious if they still make them,or could if an order was placed.I know they repro`d the Tonka IH Metro vans back then, too.
