I keep checking to see if you have any updates, been watching for awhile. One of my favorite builds here.
Thanks for the complement. There are some awesome builds going on and I'm glad to be place in their company.

Been making some small progress. Buffing is complete. Some of the exterior trim has been installed. I also didn't like the height of the rear suspension. It was a bit too much of a rake for me. I ordered 5" drop springs the ride height is much better now. I now have about 1 1/2" clearance between the rear and the bump stop. I assume that's enough as long as I don't try to carry a load in the bed. My plans are to carry just a cooler and some chairs.

Here are a couple pics of where I am now. Down to one sheet on my punch list!

LoL, Ill try to do better Mike. I cut the size of my pictures down using "Drag-N-Scale". I changed the size of the file to make them bigger(700x465), lets see if this is any better. If not I will have to find different software.

The whole truck really just is flawless and knowing how much rust you had to deal with and how much metal fabrication you did makes me appreciate your truck even more.

Much better Steve. I like to post up big pics(probably too big). I have a huge monitor at work, go figure. FYI, I use VCW photo editor. It's freeware, let's me quickly crop and resize my pics.

Keep up the good work. I can't wait till I'm in the stage you are. All that hard work finally paying off.

Wow, awesome! I really like the wheels and the color looks great. I had a matchbox truck with wheels like that, looking good.

Thanks Scott, she is far from flawless and I really do appreciate your very kind comments. Having a medium like this where you can go back and see what all went into a build is really cool. I sometimes go back and look at some of the pics from 2009 and it feels like so long ago.

Thanks Mike, I will have to take a look at VCW.

You will be there in no time. How long before you paint yours? Wish I was closer I would be glad to lend a hand using my spare 2 minutes per month, .

Thanks Sourkraut, I will get some closer pics of the wheels for you. The wheels are 17" Cragar 500's mounted on Nitto's. I think I had more info on a previous post.

I'd take you up on that 2 minutes in a heartbeat...I going to try to have some color on mine before fall. My plan is get all the panels ready for final blocking before I start shooting the color. I really don't want to have a mismatch in color. Reds can be a little tricky even out of the same can. I just got the doors ready for high build primer, next fenders, then bed, gate, hood etc.....

Keep up the good work on yours, and yeah I go back and look at my 2009 pics. I have came a long way too, just not as dedicated as you guys that are wrapping your builds up.

Life is busy....

Just finished reading this, what an awesome build. My son and I just got our first truck to work on. Loved the fact that he wanted a classic truck as oppose to a newer car/truck.
Thanks bevo for the kind comments. It's great you and your son are going to work on a classic. There is no better bonding experience for a father son in my opinion.

P.S I'm honored that your first post was on my build! Welcome to the site.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Well another Turkey Rod Run has come and gone. I was so glad to meet several of you who stopped by to say hello. It's the friendships you make that make this hobby so much worth it.

Ill have to say the Jezebel had a great show. Lots of compliments and she ran like a top. I could not have been more proud of how she performed. She is about 95% complete with just a few things left to work out as I mentioned before. I will take care of those this winter AFTER I help a friend do some metalwork on a 72 burb he just bought. Man, I just cant get away from rust! lol

Here are a couple pics of Jezebel at the show. I also include a pics of my better half and I. It's always good to see faces when you chat back and forth for sometimes years.....

Re: Project "Jezebel"

She's doing fine. I have to admit I have not payed her as much attention lately as I should have. Been doing college visits with my daughter who is graduating high school this year. I have also been camping and offshore fishing, so not much time to work on her. Ill get back to work on her when life slows down a bit.

Thanks for following up!

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Wow, it's been 4 months since an update. Sorry about that folks. I bought a new boat and have been spending lots of time offshore this year. Also had to get my daughter off to college.

Not much progress. Built a sub enclosure behind the seat and some fiberglass kick panels (I know, I know, you want pics. I will get some on here soon.. lol ). Ive been kinda stuck on a design for a console that works well with my bench seat. I'll be dedicating some time to working on that soon when it cools down a bit here in Florida. Need to get it ready for the Turkey Run in November.

Ive also been throwing around the idea of selling my burb since we are not using it. When Jezebel is done I could use the garage space so I can get my 67 Chevelle in the shop in order to get started on it.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Thanks Scott. Now that it's cooling down a bit I have been doing a few things. I have a skeleton built for my console. Now I need to wrap it in fleece and apply the resin. I plan to paint it and the kick panels body color. It's not much to look at now though. I have a month to get it finished so I'm back on it to get if finally finished.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

It wont be long now! Finished the console and the kick panels. I have the stereo, amp and sub installed. Door glass is installed. Should have the interior installed this week. Ill post some pics when it's all in. Then I just need to take it on a shakedown run to see what gremlins are waiting for me....

She will make her debut at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona on the Thanksgiving weekend. Anyone attending come by and say hello, I always enjoy meeting other 67-72 truck guys. Ill be in the infield of turn 4. Hopefully I didnt just jinx myself... :-)
