th400 2wd to 4wd

OK got a 2wd driver TH400 in a 2wd crew cab, lookin to see what I need to look for to see if I can use it in a 4x4, preferably a NP205?? Any suggestions, anyone done this swap??

Forgot to say it's a 86 TH400 currently mated to a 454

You need a TH400 version of a NP205 for starters. The input spline count is different for the two versions np205. Other then that, It comes to the length of the output shaft of the trans. and I'm not sure what that needs to be.

Not that in particular, but TH400/NP203 to TH400/NP205. "I have people,..." (I still have record of my sources that could get you set up for sure!).

you will need a 32 spline 205 and the adapter for the TH400, it will bolt right up to your 2wd TH400 this is what I have used for years due the fact 2wd trannys are easier to find.
