Shipping Question.

I plan on shipping a set of utility bucket seats across country. I am shipping through greyhound as i have heard they are cheapest for larger items, I dont really know how to package a set of bucket seats though, has anyone done this before? Could someone give me some pointers on how to package a set of bucket seats please!

Re: Shipping Question.

Gotta agree w/Wes...received a set that was shrink wrapped and all was good. loose brackets can be wired to the main structure

Re: Shipping Question.

Mine were shipped separate bolted to 1x4s and crated with 1x4 and cardboard. Shrink wrap sounds good and less trouble. 2 buckets together will be very heavy and hard to handle. My 2 cents

Re: Shipping Question.

I had a rear seat shipped from KS to WA via greyhound. It was packed in a make-shift box with all the brackets removed and put inside the box. It worked fine.

Re: Shipping Question.

I ebay'd a set of leather seats from a Z-28 and the knucklehead sent them in one box with one seat sitting on the other and then stuffed with newspaper... The metal from the seat bracket dug three nice tears into the leather of the bottom seat... I couldn't believe it...

Shrinkwrap sounds good. You can get heavy duty rolls made specifically for shipping.

Re: Shipping Question.

I got a set of utility buckets from "t korinek". We went with fedex shipped to a business. A bit heavy for greyhound. He removed the brackets and put the 2 seats together one upside down on the other and all in a box. These were "cores" to be rebuilt, so obviously if yours are nice, then shrinkwrap/cardboard, etc as extra precaution. Just my experience. Also it was AZ to TX so not that far.

Re: Shipping Question.

Mine were shipped by grayhound one in each box from Montana to Texas. I would check prices at that time they were 1/2 price of fedex
