Resistor wire removal
What is the easiest way to remove the resistor wire for the ignition? I would like to cut the ends of the 2 yellow wires in the engine compartment and tape them back in the bundle. I would like to remove the feed from the fuse panel first as I don't want any live wires. Do I have the take the fuse panel out to remove the connection, or is there an easier way?

Re: Resistor wire removal
I unwound the old electrical tape and added a 12 gauge wire for HEI. I left the resistor wire in the wire bundle (in case I want to go back to points) and just retaped everything back up.
Not that difficult to do. |

Re: Resistor wire removal
When I upgraded my inline 6 to HEI I just cut the wire at the junction block(under hood, at the firewall) leaving about 1 inch then pig-tailed off of that with a new 12g wire.
Works fine, although my truck is not street worthy yet, I do start it once in a while and drive in the back yard. More specific to your question (I hope), I think you can remove the engine side connector with the single bolt, cut the wire. then using needle nose pliers remove the pin completely.
