What Transfer Case will fit the 700 Tranny?

As stated in Thread Title i need to know what Transfer Case will work with the Over drive Tranny, I Have one & would like to use it in Willys Truck that Im Building...............

It will have to be 27 spline to match the 700's out put shaft.So you'll need either a NP 205 or a 208.The 208 will be a direct bolt on with the factory adapter.The 205 requires a spacer along with the factory adapter.

27 spline input cases were found behind th350 trannys. 208 is a chain drive 2hi 4hi n 4lo. the 205 is gear to gear same shift as the 208. it is typical for off road shops to remove (out of the 205) the 27 spline and put in the 32 spline intrenal type converting it to the style that was behind the th400 tranny. popular for doublers and nv4500 conversions. there should be shafts around if you find a 205 case and it has a 10 spline your not out of luck. the bearing is the same for 27 and 10 spline.

The 208 is what they were coupled with from factory.Later,in front of 241s.

I would go for a 241 over a 208 if you have the choise, the 241 has a lot stronger case, the 208s were known to crack.

Where could i find the Spacer & Adaptor you are Referring to?

I Have 2 Different 205's , One with the 4 Speed & one with auto?

advance adapters has a 700 r out put shaft that will work with a 4 speed 205
