Re: 56 project
I hope they help, and for anyone thinking of bagging a TF I can help with pics of that also. All the brackets step notch and bag cups ,trailing arms were made out of scrap steel from a fab shop. Cost 1, 12 pack of beer. allmost everything I made was cut with a 4 1/2" grinder, sawzall or torch. I wanted to see if the home builder could make it without speical tools and little money.

Re: 56 project
I'd be a little concerned with that single U-bolt on the two link arm. The ones GM used on the trailing arm suspensions was much beefier.

Re: 56 project
I was looking at that the other day .I"ll go to the 4 wheel drive shop and see what they have that's stronger. That whole setup will be changed when I find a disk brake rearend. Then I"ll make it into a 4 link. Thanks for the insight.

Re: 56 project
Thanks Kabwe! The roof rot was like that on both sides and top and bottom of the gutter. If I had to do it again I'd shave the gutters, spent the same amount of time.

Well I've been getting more done. Got my bed, fenders and doors ready for last blocking before for paint. Built a new front panel using stock top rail and making a new lower. Also making new tailgate need to make hidden pin locks and skin the outside.

Re: 56 project
Thanks! Seats are from a pontiac sun bird 30.00 at the salvage yard. Hope to remount the doors this weekend and recheck the gaps, then block and prime fenders and cab 1last time. I hope to have the motor installed in two weeks.

Re: 56 project
Thanks, but now my mind is racing so much I have a hard time staying on task. I need to pick colors for the seats so I can figure out what to paint the dash. Need to pull it all apart to paint the door jams. Can't wait to put the motor in do I run the th350 I have or buy a 700r4. If I go with the r4 then I need to get differant brackets to mount my lokar. ON and ON and ON ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!
