73 to 87 BBC Chevy 2WD header ??

For 73 to 87 BBC in Chevy 2WD truck builders/owners. I am on a budget so I am wondering if other style/model headers fit a BBC 73-87 PU (2WD). The Big tube Hookers are a way spendy for my budget as are the coated small tube styles and a little interchange/swap info would make swap meet hunting a bit easier.

"Hooker #2455" Not for $369 Summit I'm not, heh heh , Hookers are way too spendy for my budget. No problem finding them new just finding the money is.(I have the number in my notes on the odd chance I find a set at a swap)

Re: 73 to 87 BBC Chevy 2WD header ??

I've heard many times that Chevelle headers fit these trucks, but I have not tried them yet. I have Hedman truck headers on mine right now and they hang a little too low for my liking (3/5 drop). I'm seriously thinking about swapping them out for some Patriot hipsters for a Chevelle.

That's actually a good price as long as they are coated.

Painted = no more paint after they warm up which leads to rusting very fast.

Quality over looks IMO

Thats the painted steel price, coated is a lot more. I agree, but I have a way to make the paint last -follow the directions to the letter and do not do anything until the motor is broken in. Just run em box stock then remove after motor breakin ,sandblast, THEN paint and season per directions. Everyone just blasts them w paint and takes off, it will not work that way. I have had several sets w paint that last years that way. normally WAY past my ownership.

Or buy the unpainted ones and buy high-heat ceramic paint and paint them the color of your choice. I did it myself and it works.
