New from Virginia

Hello everyone and greetings from Richmond, VA. I've been lurking a while and learning a lot primarily because I've been waiting to receive my '73 2wd Jimmy I purchased last September. It was having a built 514 Cadillac engine installed. Well, it finally arrived but the engine work was never completed so I guess its up to me now. Here's a few pics but I'll be posting the project in the builds section. Yep, the engine was just wedged in there when I got it.

I look forward to learning a lot more on here and sharing as much as I can along the way.

Eric

Well, I bought the engine from a guy down in Alabama back in June 08. Then I bought the Jimmy in Florida back in August 08. I made a deal with the engine guy to have it installed in the Jimmy and had the car delivered to Bama in Sep 08. He'd done several Caddy truck swaps and it should have been a piece of cake. I'd travel down to Bama when it was done and drive it home to VA, saving the shipping costs of a separate truck and engine.

Well, my engine guy ran into money troubles and had to take a job overseas in Dec 08. He'd made no progress other than to sell the 400 that was in it. He tried to get his friends to finish it but it went nowhere. He just returned stateside for some vacation in June 09 and managed to get the truck to a rolling state (barely) and I had another friend with a trailer get it and haul it up here. So now I've got it and its all up to me, which feels good.
