Re: new hard tonneaus on killer!

That's a very nice cover. I had one on my 97 Chevy crewcab and loved it. The price is about average for a quality bed cover.

Re: new hard tonneaus on killer!

it does cover the holes and the stakepockets, but i had it made that way, if you wanted the shaved look you could get it made to sit inside the bedrail, yeah i ditched the phantom grill and got the chrome bezels and a new stock grill i like them so far. the hinges and pistons all seem to be nice quality. thanks for all the good words -kyle

That's really slick. I like the ones that are really flat like that. Looks good man, just adds another thing to an already awesome truck.

Gemtop is the company, and that is the GT Classic cover.

To answer the question about longevity, mine had some issues but they were resolved. Originally the hinge system was made from billet aluminum. Not a good choice if you open it several times a day. The hinge eventually broke, but it was replaced under warranty with a new machined stainless version.

When I first purchased my GT Classic it came with stake pocket covers. Due to the shape of the top of the 88-98 bed the edge of the cover had to end at the middle of the stake pocket holes. If not the curve of the bedside would have caused the cover to "stick up" on the side.

Over a period of time the gasket deteriorated because it rubbed on the stake pocket fillers. My solution was to have the stake pockets welded up. Once that was done I went to purchase a new gasket. The dealer replaced the gasket under warranty, so I paid his labor cost.

In my opinion it is one of the best, if not the only option if you want a quality flush fit cover.

Re: new hard tonneaus on killer!

Morning Guys,

If it's the same company? Gemtop has been around for years. My dad had a topper on his 69 El Camino back in the early 70's. So they should know what they are doing with covers. God Bless, Terry
