Re: My patina

Can you post some pics of the inside of your bed? I'm curious to see what you did back there and how much of it you lost.

Also, do you have a picture of how you mated the OEM column to the s10 steering box?

Thanks!

Re: My patina

I'll try to get some pics of the bed today. With the way the c notch and four link was set I lost quite a bit of bed. I could have actually made the c notch smaller but didn't realize that it was gonna be too big until I got the bed on the frame. Oh well. It would lay out on 22s.
I'll also get a couple pics of the steering. It wasn't hard. Just took some thinking and testing. Me and my buddy tried one way and modified it once to get it to work. You'll see what I mean when I post the pics.
Later,
Josh

Re: My patina

This is the rear of the bed near the tailgate

This is near the passenger side at the head of the bed.

And this is the mini-tub

Re: My patina

Any pictures of the "good stuff" under that floor, maybe with the tailgate open? And the steering column?

Thanks!

BlueJeep,
I definetly don't want to hijack, but I've got a few pics of how I worked the steering stuff out on my thread. Just search "Yet Another s10 Swap". It seemed to work out slick.

Did you modify your stock steering column too? I'll have to check it out. I really dig the "stockish" interior.

Re: My patina

It's been a while but I thought I'd share my new part.....well sorta new. More like rusty. Anyways, I made this yesterday out of logging chain. The shift knob is a Tiki knob from Hawaii. Figured it would go good with me since I'm Hawaiian too. haha Anyways, here's some pics.

Re: My patina

Thanks. It did not start out as having so many curves and bends. I was gonna just have one bend in it but it ended up not working. Then it hit the seat. Or it hit the dash. Or the steering wheel. LOL So basically I just said screw it and that's how it turned out.

Well Josh, I think it came out just right regardless...

Any other plans for it?

Re: My patina

My only plans are to drive it till it breaks then fix it and drive it more. Want to try to do some different headers though. I don't like how the ones on there now have the steering shaft go through the middle of it. Other than that, nothing else. Maybe and this is a big maybe, I'll do paint in about 10 years. If I do paint it, I want to chop it and pancake the hood.

Re: My patina

Awesome truck! We are doing kinda the same thing. We had plans to paint it so alot of the body work is done so now going to Fake Patina it. Most challanging parts we have ran into is trying to make the running board mounts look good and also the Toe board and Floors. As far as headers, Im sure it will matter on placement of the motor in the compartment, but I ended up using 67- 81 camaro SBC. they fit very well and you didnt have to have that tube over the steering shaft. I actually am running a blown Small Block and it is going to fit under the hood. I can email pics if you want to see how the headers fit. Let me know! Great JOb again on your truck. Looks cool!

Re: My patina

Nice. Sounds like you're gonna have a pretty sweet truck. Send some pictures of the headers and of your truck. I think I found a header that will work but am interested in seeing yours. I believe that a 69-72 chevy exhaust manifold will work. Thanks for the pics
