Custom truck interior ideas? Subs? Bucket seats? Anybody got any ideas

I'm wantin to put bucket seats in my 72 chevy truck with a center console, right now its got the bench seat with the gas tank behind it. i has two 10" 1200 watt each audiobahn subs and amp under the seat right now. i'm hoping to put in bucket seats, probably black leather, then make a center console with cupholders and to hold the subs in it. i would like to probably have the amp visible because it is an awesome lookin amp. it is chrome and has the flames on it and it lights up blue when on. if anybody has any pics of their interior design or plans, or just ideas to post, PLEASE help and post them. Thanks

a mini-truck forum may have a lot of the ideas you seem to be looking for.

Re: Custom truck interior ideas? Subs? Bucket seats? Anybody got any ideas

I clicked on Search 67-72 at the top of this page, typed in Interiors, and a ''Looking for pix of custom interiors'' thread showed up with a LOT of ideas.

my link posting no good but search and you will find it.

p.s . if your amp is awsome looking, a thief might say the same thing and take it, if it is out in the open.

That's a cool idea, But I have wonder about the acoustics if it would have a echo or tinny sound.

It would. The whole inside surface both plate and back of cab would have to be lined with acoustic mat. Also some cotton batting in there too. The other consideration would be to run it as a sealed box or port it. The pix shows a rectangular opening between the speakers. That's the port which makes it more efficient. Be sure to run Monster Cable or equivalent from the amp to the speakers and please don't drive past my house late at night!

Re: Custom truck interior ideas? Subs? Bucket seats? Anybody got any ideas

My idea is neither new or all that custom and im sure most would look down on it but .... its my truck so.

I decided to replace the bench with Jegs poly racing buckets and remove the fuel tank all together.
Going with a racing fuel cell with an allimunuim hinged cover witha locking mechanism to both keep my fuel mine,, and stop direct sunlight from heating up the cell which couses it to lose it shape and heats the fuel.
This also keeps the sending unit and wires from the elements as it will be located in the bed up against the cab.

The combination Im going with includes 2 15 inch kickers subs in a custom incloser (Non Ported) and Amp location is in between the 2 seats not for showing off but for ease of adjusting it .
All parts mocked up I had plenty of room with these seats however in order to get quality sound its a must you design the incloser as factory ones are either to big not fitting or to small killing sound abilty.

Now mind you I wont be desturbing the piece with my subs as i turn off music in resedentual but in order to hear "Riders on the storm" in all its glory over a very laud V8 and having damage to my hearing from past mistakes steps had to be made.

Never have a ruptured ear drum and be under your truck working on a fuel line and have the line rupture pouring pressurized gas down your eyes and ear.
If you do youll know what Im talking about but some lessons arent worth learning the hard way.

Do you remember where you got your seats and how much they cost. i'm wantin to get two racing style bucket seats for my truck, but don't want ot spend to much. Anybody have any good ideas where to find some.

Also, which way do your subs fire? Straiaght up? Down? or angled? I think i'm wantin to do somethin about like you. If you had any pictures of it and you could post them, it would be greatly appreciated.

Got them from JEGS.com http://www.jegs.com/p//JEGS-Pro-High...63085/10002/-1

Sorry cant give you pictures as of yet I only mocked them up than bolted back my bench seat as i wanted to use a different mount for the seats to hold my big boned behind lol.
Subs point towards the front at a slight angle but mount low in the box taking advantage of the erea of most space the seats lean back so the subs need to also but the design of the seats leaves enough space you could run a 12 inch bass tube behind them with the original gas tank removed.

Re: Custom truck interior ideas? Subs? Bucket seats? Anybody got any ideas

lol so yeah thats your own style.. but idk why anyone would put ricer 'racing style' buckets in a truck... unless you have one serious machine and it is required at your local drag strip for your class... but i doubt that is the case..

Edittt : i have tahoe buckets in my truck, with a tahoe center console... they fit great and are super comfy. i too in the future may try to put my old memphis subs in my truck. i also have a blazer fuel tank too. maybe those seats will interest you. gl with ur project

Lol ... thats funny calling a racing poly bucket that has been reletivly the same design since what the 60's 70's maybe ..ricer. they predate the ricer movement by like what 30 years?

And yes heaven forbid a person could find a few parts to lower the weaght on these trucks making it faster handle better and get better gas milage...how lame right ... pffft.
