Wiring a "one wire" alternator

Advice Please:

My voltage regulator crapped out again. Its happened about 4 times in the past 14 years. Time to make the switch.

With a one wire alternator, do you simply put the wire onto the positive battery post?
You don't have to do anything with jumpers on the external regulator?
Are there any other wires to eliminate or terminate?
Does anyone have an alternator to recommend (part #, brand, etc.)

Thanks very much.

Just one wire, properly fused (or fusible link) and run to the battery. That's it.
