Need advice folks.

I'm thinking about putting my blazer up for sale. I'm not sure if I want to but I haven't been able to do anything on her in a year. Plus I've only been able to drive her a couple of times. I have the parts blazer too that is just taking up space.

I've reached the point lately where work and family are taking up all of my time and I'm thinking I may have to wait till a little later in life to restart up a hobby like this. I'm not hurtin for the money its just a time and space thing plus I would rather see this ole girl getting used and enjoyed. Heck I've probably only driven her 5 times this year.

If you really want to sell it then sell it.

But good blazers are hard to find at the right price. It seems that when ever I wait to buy something the price doubles or more when I want to buy it.

Mine only gets drivin 5 times a year too and I would NEVER sell it!!! NEVER!
My vote is to keep it and if you need more space get rid of other stuff instead

IF you were to sell it now, most likely you would have to take bottom dollar for it with the state of the economy being what it is. I have yet to drive mine this year for many of the same reasons that you listed. It does not cost me much to keep it, so I am holding on to it for now.

How much is it costing you to keep it? Are you making payments on it? Do you pay to store it? Do you have full coverage insurance?

I agree with the other comments above. Nice ones are only going to get harder to find and more expensive to purchase. My dad crys all the time about the 69 nova ss he had and sold way back in the day for mere peanuts. He cant touch one today for a decent price. Just sayin'

I tend to agree with the others. If you don't have to sell now, wait till the economy or your situation improves. If insurance is a drain, look into coverages for classic vehicles that are never/rarely driven. I've been amazed by quotes of 100/YR for insurance at the true value.

Thanks Guys I needed some reinforcement. I'm sure we all go through it. We don't have enough time or money or both. The next thing you know the thing in your garage is just a bug ole bucket that is no where near where you want it to be. We all have dreams of everything going just right and having a dream vehicle on the road in a few short weeks. I'll look at selling the parts blazer first and think about the rest later. -J

I guess I should answer some of the others. I paid cash for her. She's in the garage so no storage cost for her but the parts one is a different story. I have it shoved in my storage unit with other junk. Only cost is insurance and I'm on the liability only plan. But I might look at getting the Antique insurance. Good Idea. Thanks again everyone.

I would definitely look into the insurance because liabilty does you basically no good if it's sitting in your garage. If something happened to it now, you'd most likely get nothing. With the proper coverage you could get it insured for market value which can be high...alot higher than what they're selling for right now...so if anything did happen you could replace it later w/out losing out.

I've just seen people with liabilty have a tree fall on their truck or something and have it totaled by insurance and get basically nothing out of it.

I think I pay less than $200/year for full coverage on my policy with my other vehicle. If I do not drive it that is the only expense it generates (other than property taxes which are peanuts).

If you are not driving it you should be able to just knock the insurance down to comprehensive. My insurance is super cheap this way. I pay only $22 a year for 'actual cash value less $100 deductible' on my 70 Sub. I have the cash value listed at $7000 which is what I paid for it. If a tree falls on my garage I'm good.
