65 C10 build
Hello to all. I finally finished the bonus room at my house and am working on a fence. Once the fence is done I can start on my budget project. The wife finally gave the blessing. I have been following alot of you guys project with great interest and also learning from alot of you guys. It has a 250 and I will be swapping it to a 292. The tranny is a 4speed granny low. I will install a Muncie.

292 the big block of inline sixes. I like your glove box door button emoticon! Good luck on your build and marital status!

Re: 65 C10 build
Thanks guys, here is the latest. I removed front clip, tank, carpet, rightside rocker panel. This is going to need some serious work, but that's why we do what we do. Here are some pics.
Need to do some patch work on that right side floor board. Need a whole new floor for this rig. lol

Re: 65 C10 build
Well, convert to disk brakes up front, drop 2 1/2", still debating the rear for disk brakes (already dropped 4"). For now I will install a 292 with a muncie engine and look to rebuild a 327 or a 350 and install at a later time. Color scheme I still have not decided, but so far maroon is a leading candidate.

Re: 65 C10 build
are you going to keep it 6 lug or swap it to 5 lug? If 6 lug. I did that swap to mine, so if you have any ? just ask.

Re: 65 C10 build
Well its been a while since I posted and some progress in obtaining a T5 transmission for $120 that I will put behind the 292. I will sell the Muncie M21. That was the original plan. Getting ready to remove the cab to send out to mediablasting will happen within the next couple of weeks. Will also start ordering the dropped spindles, rotors, calipers, etc for the front end. That what income tax dollars are for.

Re: 65 C10 build
Started working on the Cab. Cleaned out all of the old paint and coating the it had on the floor pan. Primered the inside of the cab. Will post more pics as I have begun cutting out the cancer area and welding in new patch panels.

Re: 65 C10 build
I had finished primering the inside of the Cab. Also working on the 292. The cylinders have been bored out 0.030. The intake valves have been enlarged. Just a few items that I have been working on since my long last post.

Re: 65 C10 build
Wow you post like Rip Van Winkle would dude!
Maroon for a color could be totally awesome, with another deep color for an offset, and something bright for accent you could really rock it with all the boldy lines these trucks have!! Hope to see more of this soon, or next year, as your schedule allows of course
