Truck Width for Trailer Towing
Hey All,
We're going on a 3hr drive in about a week to pick up a '65 and want to make sure it'll fit on the trailer before we head out. I know the particulars will vary depending on how you've set-up your tire/wheel combo, but can somebody tell me their outside-to-outside wheel dimension? Thanks loads.

Re: Truck Width for Trailer Towing
Most trailers are between 80"-84" between the fenders.

Re: Truck Width for Trailer Towing
I just measured my truck and the rear width is 75". That is with a 275/60r15 on a 15x8 wheel. The front was about an inch narrower with a 235/70r15 tire. I know it is not the factory tire size but maybe it helps.

Re: Truck Width for Trailer Towing
It sure does! Thank you very much for going through the trouble.
The trailer is 76" wide so it should be no problem ![]()

Re: Truck Width for Trailer Towing
Greg65,
Just wanted to drop back in for an update. Your information was spot-on as we had about 1" total clearance. It was a nice fit and loaded on the trailer perfectly. ![]() We got it home and even though it sat for a few years, we were able to get 'er running in short order. ![]() ![]() ![]() A write-up is here with a video of the first run for anyone who's interested.
