Project : JACK LALANNE
First Off I'll Start By Telling You Guys About Myself
I'm 21 Years old, I've had juvenile Diabetes for 20 years. I come from a low income family and have dealt with a drug addict father for my whole life. I now help support my mom and younger sister. I manage a hobby store and work 10 hour days six days a week. The reason I say this is I want people here to understand I dont have much. But what I do have I'm Thankful for. This truck may not be perfect...but to me it will always be. I traded my 1994 Acura Integra GS for this truck. Cash price for the truck would have been 4,000.00 . I am the second owner of the truck, it was bought in Oregon and has only Been in Utah 10 years It is in great shape for its age. The only things that need/needed done... Hood Had Damage. Wiper Cowel was an after market primered one. The rockers need done. The floor boards and cab corners are in remarkable condition! I dont have much to work with cash wise But my plans are to start with the front clip and work my way back. I'm spraying it the same color. I NAMED THE TRUCK JACK LALLANE... Because of the trucks power...the power that the truck has to motivate me to stay healthy and positive fighting juvenile Diabetes... Well here are some before and after of the front clip , Tell me what you think BEFORE BEFORE BEFORE HOOD OFF HOOD AND COWEL OFF COWEL ON CLASSIC DASH ORNAMENT ALL TOGETHER AGAIN I RAN OUT OF PAINT FOR THE COWEL SO I HAD TO JUST BUFF THE ORIGINAL PAINT THE BEST I COULD. I HAVE MORE ON ORDER AND WILL KEEP PICS POSTED AS I GET THE ROCKERS AND BED PAINTED. |

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
good luck looks good so far..heres a quick easy and cheap tip....rub the front bumper down ( and mirrors) with some 0000 steel wool and a little wd40 and give it a coat of wax also spray the radiator support with some satin black ( do it from the grill side just try to keep it off the grill..lol) it will really wake up the front end and make the grill pop and if your real carful you can tape off the black on the grill and squirt it with the same can of rattle paint....bling bling for about $5 and your time
you can also do your frame rails and wheel wells if you want to clean it up some more....I use the Industrial rustolium ( satin black) it may not be the "best" way to do it but it looks good and will last quiet awhile... Last edited by Hottrucks; 09-23-2009 at 08:27 AM. |

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
Hey Guys! Update time, Not to much has been done...and I feel bad to those who have been following my thread. The weather in Utah has been snowy the last two weeks, and previous to that life happens and i havent done much to the truck!
On the positive side it is sheltered in my heated garage out of the elements! YAY! haha So...I'm not much into cb's but a local car audio shop had an all digital classic style cb regular $249.99 for $10.00 new in a factory sealed box!! I'm not a fan of huge cb antennas. Luckily my step dad who owns the hobby store I manage, is a communications shop owner as well. I got a nice antenna that gets killer range....best thing your asking? Its so discreet you will never see it externally in my truck I got my wheels all cleaned up....and some fair All terrains on!! The Picture I attached is of my truck, and a man who I met while i was eying his truck....he is the original owner of it...and pictures do not give my truck or his truck justice...his was absolutely beautiful....! Hope you all are having a good fall, be safe this holiday season!!! PS I really wish I had the c10 that is featured in taylor swift's "Tim Mcgraw" Video! ugh...drooling... |

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
I really want to say thank you for all the positive comments, and support! You guys rock. I own a 1990 Honda accord as my daily driver. I joined a forum for them and people in there are just ignorant. I guess it just goes to show we with our trucks have class and its more of a brotherhood!
Any-who I haven't done to much to the truck I will post a picture for my Radio Control Hobby Buffs! And This Is My Daily Driver And this picture was randomly found on google and makes me sad |
