Hey Abels. Welcome from Searcy, Arkansas. Good looking ride there.
Kosciusko? Hmmm, I've been through there a few times over the years. But it's all a blur now.

Re: New guy

I'm also a new guy to the boards and to truck restoration. I purchased a 72 Chevy Longhorn this summer (will add a photo soon). The bottom of the doors and rockers are pretty well shot, but the rest of the vehicle is pretty good especially for a WI vehicle. Do you guys think I would be better off just getting new doors all together or buying the door bottoms from Classic Parts and repairing what I have?

My '69 Longhorn had some mild rust in the same places. When I took it to be painted, the guy said it was easy enough for them to fix. To do both rockers and a couple spots on the doors, I think he charge me $150. Why was I going to destroy a weekend for that?! Just a thought...

I was just happy to find out that almost everything is available for the Longhorns. About the only thing I couldn't find a bushing set for the rear leaf springs. I just gave up and drove it with dry rot. Good luck on your ride!

I was told its a 454 out of a Chevelle. I haven't any trouble yet, so I haven't run the numbers yet.

Thanks they turned great, I just got a little over eager with the grinder while smoothing the burrs off so when you get close you can see some scratches hanging down from the bowties.
